THE Ohio State Buckeyes Are THE National Champions

ree

In a year filled with constant criticism, ups, and downs and the 4th straight loss to the scumbags up north, Ohio State hushed all the haters in (mostly) dominant fashion beating the Fighting Irish 34-23. I'm willing to admit that obviously, the season was less than perfect, losing by 1 point in Eugene when Will Howard slid down a second too late, failing to beat Michigan at home, which also led to missing the Conference Championship and finishing 4th overall in the Big 10. All of the above are fair criticisms, but none matter now that Ryan Day, Will Howard, Jeremiah Smith, and THE Ohio State Buckeyes have etched their names into college football history.

This was the first year of the 12-team playoff format, and just like 2014, when the first 4-team playoff was introduced, Ohio State proved to be far and away the best team in the nation. This year's run at the title is drawing comparisons to the 2019 LSU Tigers as the best team ever. In the playoffs alone, Ohio State outscored their opponents 145-75 through four games in what everyone was deeming the hardest route to a title—child's play. That being said, LSU's 2019 team still gets the nod from me, their offense that season may not be duplicated EVER. Ohio State's talent is up there but Howard isn't Burrow, Ebuka isn't Jefferson or Chase, it's truly tough to compare the two. I do give the 2024 Bucks the edge on defense, a unit that dominated every opponent on a historic run and only received 1 holding call since Big 10 play began.

Yes, losing to Michigan fucking sucked. It's the worst every fucking time. I even blogged my frustrations about Ryan Day's inability to beat the Maze and Blue and recommended skipping the playoffs because he'd lose the big one no matter what. Guess what, material change, I'm an emotional pussy when it comes to my teams and I want to set it all on fire at the sight of any missed step but credit where credit is due. Ryan Day deserves his flowers for dominating the entire field. People will argue Texas was close to tying it but Jack Sawyer made the biggest play in Buckeye history and we still rolled by 2 touchdowns. Using a Michigan loss as fuel for a title run is something I'd advise against going forward but titles live forever so fuck em, we ball.

I couldn't be happier for the Buckeye personalities at the pirate ship, Ohio's Tate and Big Ev, who finally have a chance to bask in glory and stick it right in Damsel Davey's face. Dave won't admit this natty run is under his skin or give the boys their rightful flower but again, fuck em, we ball.

Crown looks good on you, King. Going to have to get it resized from peanut brain to big brain, unfortunately. Let Davey duck you, that's fine, just a coward's way out.

Big Ev has answered every call from Dave loss after loss, time and time again, when Day just couldn't coach the boys up in the biggest moments. You deserve the victory tour more than anyone, and again coward's way out by Duckin' Davey to pretend to be asleep and not face the music. Fuck em, light up the Portnoy pack, fill the glass of champagne and enjoy this W. Buckeyes by a billion!

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES!!!!! O-H-I-O!!!!
