SPOILER ALERTS: RecappingEpisode 6 of Surviving Barstool and Looking Ahead to Episode 7

We are officially down to 10 players in Season 5, with five remaining on each tribe. Pigeon has Tate, Nicky Smokes, Marty, Glenny and Dana, while Worm has Tommy Smokes, Rone, Brandon Walker, Pat and Feits. Dani Jackel and Dante are the first two members of the jury, with everyone eliminated from here on out joining them until we get down to the final three.

Episode 6 opens with Marty realizing he has to keep selling the fake ankle injury from the last challenge so people don’t figure out Glenny’s idol mission. Marty tells Dana that Tate has been watching his ankle closely, and Dana says Tate is super paranoid. The two agree Tate needs to go, which is obviously not great news for Tate considering he and Dana were supposed to be working together. Nicky Smokes also checks in with Marty and Dana and basically lets them know he’s willing to work with whoever because he knows the numbers could easily turn against him.

Over on Worm, Rone and Brandon meet privately and confirm they trust each other. Brandon once again says he won’t write Rone’s name down, and both seem a little worried about Feits becoming a legitimate contender. There also appears to be a bigger group forming across tribes with Tommy, Glenny, Marty, Dana and Rone wanting to stick together and make a run toward the end.

Tate FINALLY Finds Something!

Tate has been busting his ass looking for an idol for what feels like forever, and the guy is literally searching throughout the night trying to find anything that can help him. After hours of looking, he FINALLY finds a mission called The Better Half.

Tate receives half of an immunity idol, but there's a catch. Another player may have already found the other half, and Tate has to convince that person to combine the two pieces to create one full idol. Then the two of them would have to agree on how and when to use it.

So Tate comes up with a pretty clever way to try and sniff out who has the other half. He starts asking people about idols and then throws out the line, "I would settle for half an idol right now," just to see how they react. Pat immediately wonders why the fuck Tate is suddenly asking about half an idol, so Tate isn't exactly being subtle here.

Then we find out who has the other half.

Feits.

And Feits fucking had ripped it up!

Feits had absolutely no interest in sharing an idol with someone on the other tribe, so he destroyed the mission and then told basically everyone in his alliance what he did. Tate eventually finds out and is absolutely devastated after spending almost the entire night searching on zero sleep. Brutal!

Oh, and Nicky Smokes catches Marty early in the morning without the wrap on his supposedly injured ankle. Smokes definitely notices it, but for now we don't really know whether he thinks anything of it.

Sling It And Ring It

The challenge is called Sling It and Ring It, and it's basically a giant version of that bar game where you swing a ring onto a hook. Every time someone lands the ring, they move the Barstool immunity trophy one spot toward their side. Keep winning rounds and eventually pull the trophy all the way to your end to win immunity.

Worm jumps out to an early 2-0 lead, but Nicky Smokes finally gets Pigeon going before Glenny Balls brings the trophy all the way back to the middle. Glenny is also apparently drunk during the challenge and somehow dominating every time he steps up, which feels about right.

Tommy Smokes starts choking away Worm's advantage while Pigeon keeps battling back, and eventually Dana Beers finishes it off! Pigeon wins immunity, meaning Tate somehow buys himself even more time after spending the entire night desperately searching for an idol he couldn't complete.

Now Worm has a problem.

Here We Go Again With Rone

Feits goes directly to Rone and tells him the hard truth: he's planning to write Rone's name down.

I respect the honesty, but you also just told one of the best players in the game exactly what you're planning to do and gave him plenty of time to go work his magic AGAIN!

Pat wants Tommy out, but that doesn't seem likely to get very far because Tommy, Brandon and Rone have an alliance. Rone tells Tommy to vote Feits, which makes Tommy the key to everything. If Feits and Pat can convince Tommy to flip, they have the numbers to take a shot at Rone. And at some point, you have to get the great players out of the game! They had an opportunity last episode and didn't take it. Now they've got another one.

The whole thing also feels pretty bad for either Feits or Pat. If only Feits had found half an idol and had some way of potentially protecting himself...

Oh wait.

Worm heads to Tribal and nobody plays an idol before the votes are read. It quickly gets to 2-2 between Rone and Feits, leaving one final vote to decide everything.

And the ninth person eliminated from Season 5 and third member of the jury is John Feitelberg.

Puppet Master Rone does it again!

Tommy explains in his voting confessional that Rone reached out THREE MONTHS before the game and told Tommy he wanted him to be his No. 1 alliance throughout the entire show. Tommy sticks to that agreement, votes Feits and sends him to the jury.

You have to wonder if Feits regrets ripping up that half-idol mission now. Maybe working with Tate would've been a pain in the ass and there was no guarantee he ends up with the idol, but anything would've been better than watching your name come up as the deciding vote while the other half of a potential idol is sitting in a trash can somewhere.

And Rone? This fucking guy does it again. He doesn't play his idol, gets someone else to take the bullet and somehow continues moving himself closer to the end. Kudos!

Question Heading Into Episode 7

What the hell does Pat do now? Pat is completely backed into a corner after failing to convince Tommy to vote for Rone. He thought he had people he could trust on Worm, but now he's sitting there with Tommy, Brandon and Rone all working together.

Pat also loves creating drama, so I can't imagine he's just going to sit quietly and wait for his name to get written down. He's going to have to find a crack somewhere, expose somebody's game or make a new deal quickly if Worm loses again.

Rone, meanwhile, has survived yet another Tribal Council without touching the immunity idol he's been carrying around for half the damn season.

Winner of Episode 6

WINNER: GLENNY BALLS — Showing up drunk to a challenge and dominating the way Glenny Balls did very much made it an easy decision to put him here. I've been hard on him so far throughout this show wondering how he is still in despite not being part of the company anymore, but he stepped up in a big way, and as someone who is rooting for Tate, he saved my guy another episode. (Note: I'm trying not to repeat winners until I have to. I think people are playing a better overall game than Glenny, but it was impressive nonetheless what he did during the challenge.)
