I'm feelin' FRISKY Kraken Fans!

The beginning of Spooky Season and our Seattle Kraken’s season all in one day, sometimes the stars truly align. This time maybe too well, as yes, KrakHeads, we may be sitting ducks with a scary season standing before us. But I don't give a damn cause my boys are back and gonna be buzzin'!

We begin a season of absurd levels of uncertainty tonight, as I have seen us projected anywhere from locks for last place in the whole league to a fringe playoff contender. Here's the thing: I'm an 84-gamer either way. Growing up in Arizona, I know what it's like to lose a team, so I'm gonna try not to bitch too much about the Kraken's lack of star power and instead just enjoy the fact that I have a team near me to root for. Also, ummmm, let me just say it now... I think we are FRISKY.

Yep, I said it. I know I'm opening myself up to potential pain, but isn't that truly what sports fanhood is all about? Feelin' something, anything? If I just go in with zero expectations, then I'm just a zombie rolling from night to night blindly watching a bunch of dudes skating on ice. Nah, f*** that, we are frisky as hell.

Let's think about it: we have not one, but two legit goalies. Are they top 5? No, but they could be the starter on 20 other teams for sure. Combine that with two high-level scoring defenders in Brandon Montour & Vince Dunn. OH, is that you wanting more scoring punch? Okay, how about the mouthful of McCann & McMann? Yep, Jared & Bobby have 30-goal potential! Hold on, did you say youth movement? We got you there too: Matty Beniers, Berkly Catton, and Mackie Samoskevich!

Look, let the haters hate. Let people tell you they are unwatchable, can't score, and the true show is before the game. That is all fine and well, but how quickly they forget we heard all of the same stuff the year we found our way into the second round of the playoffs... The journey begins today. I believe in Daccord, Dunn, Eberle, and all of the Kraken! Let's show the hockey world the Kraken are here!
