2026-27 Gonzaga Player Profiles: Davis Fogle
No more fake games on the schedule; Monday is the real deal for Gonzaga in 2026-27. Over the past week, I have introduced the projected rotation players and gotten down to the last two, the ones who are currently getting well-deserved pub all over the internet. Today, we will hit one of the two guys who look to have the most pull in the direction of this upcoming season for the Zags. Let's talk Year 2 Davis Fogle.
Last season, Davis came in as the prize recruit of the class. After playing his prep days in the PNW town of Anacortes, a small school that does have some good athletics, he burst onto the scene and the Zags jumped on board early. Then, for his senior season, he went down to the desert to play a national circuit and quickly soared up recruiting rankings, finishing in some as high as 17th overall in the nation. Now, I'm gonna call him a 5-star recruit, but some will nitpick and say four, though with so many services around these days, who is to say what the official one is. Anyway, he stuck to his commitment and headed back to the PNW.
In Year 1, right from the jump in garbage time, he showed that his scoring ability was at another level. Still, finding minutes for him was tough until he forced his way into more and more; this, followed by some unfortunate injuries, had Fogle as a starter come March. Though for the season his numbers don't jump out at you with 8.6 ppg and 3.1 rpg, the end-of-season sample size does. Not to mention the high overall FG%, this, coupled with an offseason work ethic applauded not only by his own coaching staff but from camps he attended, has his name among breakout player lists everywhere.
This potential leap was shown right away in the team scrimmage as he broke the Gonzaga scoring record for Kraziness in the Kennel, yes, a game in which we have seen Jalen Suggs, Andrew Nembhard, Rui Hachimura, Chet Holmgren, Domantas Sabonis, and many more play. We then didn't get to see him vs. Arkansas, sending a mild heart attack across the state of Washington, but we were put at ease last night as he played and looked very good yet again with multiple high-flying dunks. It all becomes real though Monday, as the preseason lists and talk don't matter anymore, it's how does Fogle do with the pressure of being a dude on a team with lofty postseason goals?

Well, I'm buying all the Davis stock I can. His size, skill, and athleticism are off the charts, and he plays the game with a controlled aggression that allows him to take the right shots. In my mind, he is very similar to Braden Huff in that they just seem to be in control while others are stuck trying to frantically catch up. Huff will still be our #1 scorer, but Fogle won't be far behind, and having him on the court with Isaiah Harwell feels like a freakin' cheat code! I have a feeling we may only get two years of him, so sit back and cherish this guy's play while we can, the Fogle era begins Monday.
