Has it already almost been a year since the release of one of the most anticipated video games of all time?
Man, how time flies... For those who have been living under a rock the past year, EA Sports released College Football 25 in July of 2024. It was the first time the game had been released in over 10 years.
On Thursday morning, EA Sports released the trailer for College Football 26. Check it out below if you missed it.
When you first turned on College Football 25, it felt like you were reliving the best days of your childhood. For some, it was their first taste of a college football game, and it performed with over $500 million in sales.
Let's review some of the new features we can expect in College Football 26, which will be released worldwide on July 10.
For all of the updates and new gameplay modes, check out this website here.
NEW DYNASTY FEATURES
Everyone always enjoys starting up a dynasty with their favorite school or even joining an online dynasty league with friends. Speaking of, if you are interested in joining an online league, check out our league's X page. We are looking for new members, and you can message us or reach out to me on X if you're interested in experiencing a fast-paced online dynasty.
The biggest news with the dynasty is the announcement of cross-play. College Football 26 Online Dynasty now supports cross-play across XBOX Series X|S and PS5. You will now be able to run a 32-person online dynasty with friends regardless of platform.
Of course, one of the biggest stories in college sports is the godforsaken transfer portal. In the game, there is now a new, expanded, and unpredictable transfer portal featuring thousands of players. Additionally, according to some sources, recruiting has evolved with new location-based visits, revised dealbreakers, and dynamic traits.
NEW COACHES AND PLAYS
No more generic coaches are in the game, as EA announced that 300 real-world coaches will be included in this year's game. Beating Oklahoma will become even sweeter seeing Brent Venables across the sidelines from you, or maybe you're into beating out Josh Heupel in recruiting. Either way, don't expect Eli Drinkwitz to lie down. Playbooks will have over 2,800 plays with new schemes added to the game as well.
ENTER SANDMAN
Listening to Metallica's famous soundtrack in the background of the trailer made me wonder if it was confirmed that the track would be included in the game, and sure as shit, it is!
You can't have college football without Enter Sandman:
EA also said 160 new school-specific chants, new mascots, and band music have been added to the game.
OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES FOR ME
Choose your college via a decision-day hat-picking ceremony like a true 5-star recruit in Road to Glory.
Commit early to a college and de-commit later if you want in Road to Glory.
Building your highlight tape to earn an offer from your dream school.
Adding back the famous trophy room to show off how much of a loser you truly are.
Team Builder is getting a facelift, and College Football Ultimate Team will see new improvements.
