What PMT Means To Me: Book Submission

Picture this: A sports obsessed 21 year old kid in the Navy. He’s just moved into a new home with his (ex) wife and his 20 minute commute to Naval Base San Diego on 32nd street takes a little over 2 hours due to base traffic. To pass the time from 5-7 am he listens to whatever Max Kellerman and Stephen A. Smith have to say about the sports world from the day prior. After that, Pardon The Interruption comes on his radio to debate the same topics he just heard. For a while, this stimulates his under developed brain but due to the repetitiveness of the topics, debates, and tenor he’s forced to start branching into new shows. Around the horn? It’s like listening to the yak, fine, but more fun to watch. Okay what about those guys at The Ringer? 2 hours of Bill Simmons high pitched nasal tone was enough for him to steer clear. Then, one day, he stumbles across this Fat Cat, his undersized cohost, and their no-chinned producer, whom apparently say “suck my dick” as a greeting and he begins to listen. Not only does he listen but he begins to relate to the way they discuss sports, life, and really everything else. The ball knowledge is there but they’re also fucking idiots. Just like him! From 2017 to current day, every Monday, Wednesday, & Friday he knows what to queue up and he’s seldom missed a show.
That 21 year old idiot is obviously this 31 year old idiot. What PMT means to me is a loaded question honestly. I feel as if I’ve grown with the show and their interests and mine are shared, it's like I know these guys. I’ve been on deployments where at the first sign of signal, I was downloading episodes I’ve missed just to catch up not only with the off the wall, odd ball sports takes, but also to see what’s up with the fellas. It's truly the diversity of the show that had me hooked from first listen. Monday Readings, calling Max Homa a pervert sweeping the nation, Jerry O'Connell's poems, etc. They seem to bring out a different side of those they interview because of their infectious stupidity. (said with love) From Billy, Liam, Jake, and Jilly to Max, Memes, Zac, and Shane, I’ve been along for the ride. What the hell happened to Huey? Just kidding, I've got a pretty good idea.
This show was there for me on my best days, even more so on my worst, and always seemed to put a smile on my face or chuckle in my belly. It made me get into other barstool shows, hell, it made me want to create my own show. From traveling to Vegas to see the worst stand up set ever, interviewing the producers (shout out Max and Pug), having beers post-dozen with PFT, getting a tour of the Chicago office and being allowed to watch The Dozen in office, and even being recognized by Big Cat the first time I met him. .

These guys haven't ever gotten to big for their fans and are some of the most genuine dudes I've had the pleasure to meet. All these words to simply state that this show is the GOAT. I recommend it to all my boys and even have to share the funniest clips with those around me, no matter who. I appreciate this show more than I have time to explain. 9x AWL, soon to be 10. Thank you fellas for all you do, I hope I make the book, but if not, I'll be listening. Viva.
