South Point 400? More Like the South Point Pick6
"... viva las vegas!"
The Cup Series is in Sin City today for The South Point 400. Starting at 4:38 central on USA, the 5th race of The Chase. Currently, Kyle Larson is the leader, with Denny Hamlin 26 points behind him.
The Toyota's swept the top 5 in qualifying yesterday, with Denny Hamlin winning his 5th pole of the season. Ty Gibbs, C Bell, Briscoe, and Reddick follow Denny. Earlier this season we saw the Toyota's dominate the intermediate tracks, and in case you aren't aware, Vegas is an intermediate track.
Austin Cindric - Finishing Position Better than 11.5: Austin has been cruising under the radar this Chase, at least for me. He has covered this line in 3 of the 4 Chase races but has covered it in 5 of the last 7 races, and has 2 top 10 finishing at Vegas. Although the Ford's haven't been as good as the Toyota's have at intermediate tracks, Austin and the number 2 team have been consistent this season and have proved they can compete. Plus, Austin is running a paint scheme I personally haven't seen him in before. Good vibes.

Chris Buescher - Finishing Position Worse than 14.5: Now Chris and the number 17 team are a part of the Ford's that have shown they can't compete, especially on intermediates. Chris has covered this line 4 times in 13 races. In 19 races at Vegas Chris only has 3 top 10 finishes. On the bright side, he is running a neat-looking paint scheme.

Ryan Blaney - Finishing Position Worse than 8.5: If there is anyone on my card that could prove me wrong today, it's Blaney. I just don't think that him and his crew have the car right for today. He is starting P20, which isn't ideal, he does have 10 top 10 finishes here but that's in 20 races. His average finish at Vegas since 2023 is 20.4, and on the season, he has an average finish of 12.5. Also, he has a lame ass paint scheme today so no way he covers.

Christopher Bell - Finishing Position Better than 4.5: C Bell has covered this line in 7 of the last 12 races and has 5 top 5 finishes at Vegas since 2023. I'm sure I sound like a broken record, but the Toyota's are good on intermediates and with C Bell starting P3 I think he stays out front. Sadly, he also has a lame ass paint scheme.

Kyle Larson - More than 46.5 Laps Led: Lameo Larson is back in my card and lucky for him, I have full faith in him covering this line. Kyle is starting P6, which means he will have to pass some great drivers to get out front, which is not something new for him. In the last 5 races he has covered the line in 3 of them. Kyle is running in honorary paint scheme for the late Kyle Busch which I think will help push him out front for as long as possible.

Ross Chastain - Finishing Position Worse than 14.5: I am kind of sad to be taking this because I like Ross the Boss, but Ross has only covered this line in 5 of the last 12 races. The number 1 team just has not figured out how to be consistent. In his career, Ross has an average finish of 16.5 here at Vegas. Lucky for him, he is running a cool paint scheme.
