Seattle Kraken Breakout Players 2026-27
Hockey is just around the corner, as rookie camps finish, full training opens, and captains begin to be announced, we are so close! For us Seattle Kraken fans, if we get caught up in the doom & gloom of the media predictions, it may very well ruin our excitement for the action on the ice to return. I am here to say, though, there is some hope for this season in Seattle. We will need some breakouts, but we could make some noise. How? Well, I have 5 players that could turn the corner & change our season ahead!
Jake O'Brien
Starting with the full-on long shot, he still may be a year away, but I have this Dylan Guenther type of feeling with this guy. For the Mammoth (well, Yotes then), he just forced himself into the lineup sooner rather than later. O'Brien has that type of feel to me; if he gets some ice in preseason, he may turn some heads.
Shane Wright
The one we are so impatiently waiting on. Now, there is also the possibility still that he may not even be around by Christmas. But if he can just be a 20-20 guy on the 3rd line, that changes our offensive depth to contender level!
Oscar Fisker Mølgaard
I saw this guy play so damn well at the Olympics last February. If that dude can show up in Seattle, this is a bottom-six difference maker. Like many so far in the system, he has done well in the AHL, now it's time to show it at the big boy level!
Mackie Samoskevich
Mackie to me is the one that feels like he is ready to pop. We have to hope his lower numbers are just due to a lack of chances with him being in Florida. Everyone says the shot & skating are there, he just needs the opportunities. If he can get to the 25-goal mark, this team will be at a very competitive level!
Berkly Catton
Damn, did we see flashes last year of what could be from Catton. His ability to become a weapon in this offense will create so much more space for McCann, McMann, Eberle, & Beniers. Catton needs to be the draft pick that hits to begin the turnaround for the Kraken.
The list is offense-heavy, yes I know. That is because it's what we need to help out our goalies. With Joey Daccord & Philipp Grubauer, we feel solid about the net, now it's time to help them not feel like they have to be perfect every night. If we can see some breakouts on offense, this team has a real shot to return to the playoffs for the first time since season 2 of the franchise.
