The Good, The Bad & The Sponsored: Bristol’s Paint Scheme Breakdown

The Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway is Saturday night. 500 laps, 266.5 miles, under the lights, and some of the best paint schemes of the season. Let's get into analyzing these schemes.

The Good:

The #1 Scheme, No Question

Ty Gibbs, a young driver who is familiar with grief, NASCAR, and family without a question wins best paint scheme this week. A scheme that is honoring the late Kyle Busch. With photographed memories of Kyle while racing, winning, being a husband and father, and while being the most hated and most loved driver, all of the car and sporting the Bundle of Joy Foundation. This brings tears to my eyes while writing about it, even as a new fan, the legacy of Kyle Busch will live on forever, Always Rowdy.

Second Place: First Time this Season

Mr. Buescher (please read this in the voice Tyler Pennell uses in his TikTok videos) has not finished a race in second place this season, but he did in this week's paint scheme rankings. I do wish there the Kool-Aid Man was maybe larger on the hood, but you can't look at this car without smiling or feeling nostalgic.

Thanking Veterans and Taking Third Place

If you know me this should not be a surprise' to have Chase Briscoe on this list. Being the Bass Pro Shops Night Race and having a Bass Pro Shops sponsored car while also showing your American pride is just chefs kiss. No notes, let's win a race Chase.

Red, White, and Blue for USA 250

Austin Dillon might be a forgettable driver, but this paint scheme is not forgettable. Yes, I had to double check who drives the #3 and what team he's on. What is more American than NASCAR, Bass Pro Shops, and Winchester? Wrong, nothing. That is all.

Be a Moose, Get on My List

Ross the Boss is obviously on my list, sadly not a Busch Light car this week but I am digging the red and black with the moo,se. Now, I don't know what BeAMoose.org is and I don't want to look so hopefully it's something cool. I do worry about this getting scheme getting lost in the dark without headlights in this night race, but maybe he will sneak through the field and we'll see a watermelon smash in victory lane.

Honorable Mentions:

Will Freddie Kraft Lose Sight of this Car?

Bubba Wallace sneaky always has a good paint scheme and I don't think enough people talk about it. While this maybe is one of his less creative and detailed scheme, it still rocks. The teal blue paired with the gold is just perfect. If the gold had some glitter or shimmer to it then I would have him in the top 5. Normally 23XI is on top of their social posts for the schemes and I haven't seen any, which is a disappointment. I hope Monday on Door Bumper Clear we hear from spotter Freddie Kraft is he was able to keep his eyes on Bubba the whole race.

William Byon Stunts on these Hoes

William has had this scheme before, and I think he was on my last honorable mentions list, but doesn't this scheme just make you think of a Hot Wheels car? I love it.
