Today, the Barstool Gambling socials posted a new job opportunity for Social Media Specialist, with an emphasis on the following
Qualifications:
Elite ball watcher
Experience with Adobe Photoshop
Knowledge of sports betting
Of course, like many other sports or Barstool enthusiasts, people are flocking at the chance to put their applications into the Stool universe. As someone who fits both of those categories, I JUMPED to the front of the line the best I could and filled out the application to the best of my ability.
Though, you see, I felt a personal touch was still needed...maybe a tweet, or even dropping a future bet I’ve extensively researched. But I just felt that didn’t seem quite enough. Like come on...I could already hear my wife saying this place is your dream job go ALL IN! She is awesome and I'm happy though sometimes she can't fathom how much I watch sports & Barstool, she will still be cheering the loudest for or with me!
Anyways...had to shout her out. This felt bigger. I mean, it’s not every day the company you love and follow posts a job that you not only qualify for, but one that combines all of your hobbies in one fell swoop.
This called for a blog. No doubt about it.
So here we go...Barstool Gambling, you may get thousands of applicants, but this one right here is going to give you 5 reasons why he wants this job... and why he’s built for it.
1. I Know and represent the Barstool Brand With Pride and Work Ethic
This one’s a must. The biggest part of working for any company is buying in completely and representing it with pride.
I’ve been a Stoolie for nearly a decade, which has led to some cool opportunities:
Member of Barstool’s Dozen Fan Team
Tons of live events under my belt...including being the ONLY fan to get called on three times on the Dozen Live Show. Yeah, I nailed ALL three questions, chugged vodka for the boys, and nearly got my shoulder dislocated by Gary Vee... all in the name of proving one thing too...I KNOW BALL.
Stoolie Insider (1st Yak appearance, shoutout Neal)
Also the Vegas show was how I got to be one day a writer for Barstool Breakdown, where I’ve had the chance to blog and engage more people with the Barstool brand.
With these opportunities, I’ve done my best to promote the Barstool world, even bringing friends into watching the content unfold. With this job I will focus all my intentions to help build the Barstool personalities and gambling with DraftKings on social media. My focus will be to help their bets, best & worst get to the people. Their moments funniest, saddest, and most exciting clipped to the people to feel like they were there too. This all shows I'm about the brand, and when your are all about something, work becomes your passion and the work ethic will be 110%!
2. EXPERIENCED: I’ve Managed Social Media Platforms for My Former Workplace
Though I was an educator first, I was also the go to guy for live sports content during our Friday Night Lights. That led to me managing the Desert Edge High School Athletics social media pages.
Across 5+ years, I’ve learned the ins and outs of clipping live content, creating engaging promotional posts, and using platforms like Canva, CapCut, and Adobe Photoshop. During my time at Desert Edge I created and clipped to to build up athletes and their engagement for recruiting. Also an extra as a teacher, I have an understanding how to reach different audiences, from students to parents and what content boosts engagement across the board.
3. My Coaching & Sports Background Makes Me a Machine for Statistics
Now this one can go a few ways. Yes, of course, I know ball. I watch ball. I study ball. But I’ll touch more on that in Reason #4.
For this one, let’s talk coaching.
As a coach, I build and analyze stats and tendencies, which easily translates into the gambling world. Game theory as Mintzy has said, gambling is so much about trends, numbers, and stats. I can break down Barstool personalities’ betting stats, identify trends by sport, and dig into odds like a pro. As a coach I always dove into the analytics of the game, finding tendencies and looking for the trends. This led to also clipping videos, creating videos, and stat sheets. As a coach you know how to build up your athletes. This is huge as I know what it takes to build engagement for others, and that is what this position is looking for, to grow the social media for Barstool gambling personalities.
I’m built for this type of grind.
4. I WATCH BALL! I BLEED BALL!
If you think I’m exaggerating, go ahead and ask my wife.
One of her all-time quotes: “How do you always find another sport to watch...one ends another begins and then proceed to know shit about it right away?”
Look, I’ve got my teams(mentioned in the blog) like any sports fanatic, but if sports are on, I need to watch. Whether it’s 20+ hours on a fall weekend, or being locked in for every single March Madness game, I’m there. Feast Week to Conference Championship Week, Masters to The Open at 1AM. I gotta watch. I've also shown this with my live blogging of even Barstool After Dark streams, I can consume SPORTS or CONTENT!
From golf to hockey, college baseball to college hockey...I keep a pulse on it all.
Don’t believe me? Go check my blog page for receipts.
I. BLEED. BALL.
5. I Am Loyal, Committed, and Reliable
When a company hires someone, they want a worker to not worry about.
With my background as an educator, I know how to get things done without needing to be told. I’m self-motivated, and my 9+ years in education proves my consistency and drive. At Desert Edge, I took the time each Friday night to live tweet clips of games...home and away, for years. I built their brand and boosted engagement across Arizona, all because:
I love my brands
I love sports
I love to promote
With this job I will take on the same energy to give the best effort everyday or night to get the best our Barstool personalities have to the people, as a Stoolie I know what we all are looking for at times, and I can use that to help promote the Barstool Brand.
Thank you for reading(hopefully), these 5 reasons I feel embody the qualifications for the Barstool Social Media Specialist gig.
I truly hope this blog finds the right eyes and gives me a the shot at something I’ve wanted for years. I’m thankful Barstool Breakdown saw potential in me and gave me the platform to write blogs and now it gives this personal touch to my application.
This is my blog to you, Barstool.
Here’s to putting it all on the line.
To work for Barstool Sports and make sports my livelihood would be a dream come true.

Count me in, I bleed ball and SCARLET AND GRAY!
