Hold Up WOAH!! Potential BIG Idea ...The Barstool Weekly?!?

Today, just like most days as I surfed social media, I went to share some Barstool content with a friend. His response? Let’s just say… was highly questionable. And that’s when I had the realization: a lot of so-called “well-adjusted” or “normal” people (by society’s standards) don’t Stoolie to the level I’ve clearly degenerated to. Their depth of knowledge just may not be there!

That got me thinking deeper about Barstool content, and the fact that there should be a weekly Barstool content rundown show or even just a quick pod.

Now maybe I’m in the zone with this idea, or maybe I’ve got a huge blind spot and Barstool has already tried something like this. But first off, no, I’m not talking about The Rundown. We all know and love that as Stoolies, but that’s about the day-to-day big moments around the internet. What I’m talking about is different: a 15-30-minute weekly rundown of what actually happened at Barstool. Not just the funny viral clips as socials for Barstool kill it with that, because even the non-psycho Stoolies, ya know...the “average” fan, can catch those on Twitter or TikTok. I’m talking about everything that dropped at Barstool this week type of stuff.

Let’s step back for a second. Think about the fans who aren’t obsessed like me. People with jobs that don’t let them consume content all day. Wives or husbands who hate Barstool, so they have to sneak watch. Parents chasing kids around once they get off work. Whatever the reason, a ton of people have time constraints on their weekly Stool intake. Sure I get that, the big boys...PMT, Chiclets, KFC Radio, Foreplay & so on will always be fine. They've built the brand. Instead what about the "niche" content that could be right up someone’s alley, but they don’t even know it exists, just cause they haven't been told...enough?

The answer could be quite simple... a one-stop shop of promotion that shines a light on all the weekly releases and what they are about. Think about the old days when you had school the next morning, and your parents made you go to bed before the big game. How’d you find out what you missed? SportsCenter. Back when SportsCenter meant something, not this shit we get today. But can't go on a tangent now...Back int it, we all remember the side rundown, the quick recaps, the previews...it’s how you found your new favorite player or cinderella team. That same model could help people discover their new favorite Barstool show.

To go one further maybe it needs to come from the psychos like are selves! As we know once your bro says check it out, how can you not! That’s where like possibly even us here at Barstool Breakdown comes in. Have diehard Stoolies give a “grinds my gears” type of minute about why their favorite pod isn’t getting the love it deserves. Or let each person pitch their must-watches of the week. Mix in quick pop-ins from the talent themselves to promo their stuff.

You could bring in the people who want to grow their brand. Imagine Nick & KB dropping in for a one-minute segment about ANUS. Or Kate doing a rant for Kate & Friends. Chaps promoting Drop a Pin. Ella & Katic plugging their new project. Just a quick, fun highlight reel.

The truth is, we live in a clip-to-clip society. Outside of the big names, tons of great content gets missed even though their clips at times do numbies. Barstool has so much that’s right on the edge of blowing up...Ronedot.com, Fishbowl, Mook Can’t Sleep, but it just needs that extra push.

Again this isn’t a knock on the socials or the creators, instead an ode even. We all know the deal: commercials can scream about Rotten Tomatoes scores and Emmy wins all day, but at the end of the day, you usually check something out because your buddy told you to. I may be way off base, or again this could have been tried, I just know there's so much talent in the company looking for a tap into that new realm.

Maybe Stoolies just need that nudge...a show built specifically for that. Short, sweet, straight to the point. Think Entertainment Tonight meets SportsCenter meets ESPNEWS meets Barstool Weekly.
