Barstool Breakdown Coach Day's Heisman & Playoff Rankings Vol. 5

We have finally arrived at the final week of the college football season. RIVALRY WEEK! Oh boy oh boy is so much still unsettled in the college football world. This week we saw two Heisman “underdogs” flex their muscles & throw themselves deep into the conversation for the award, while in the playoff picture the logjam is real & we are heading toward a lot of unhappy fanbases soon.

WE are gonna start with a quick shot on the Heisman race, as I already released who I think should win #Love4Heisman (read here: https://www.barstoolbreakdown.com/post/jeremiyah-love-4-heisman). While someone else showed he deserves some more credit in Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia as well. Alabama QB Ty Simpson meanwhile has seemed to play his way out unless he pulls off an insane performance in the Iron Bowl. Pavia & Love will need big performances yet again this week to seal their invites to New York.

Unfortunately I still think Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza will win, and he is an elite player, he just isn't the most exciting in the country, doesn't move the needle.

Alright, let's talk rankings though. First off, there were really no upsets this past week except for Pitt beating Georgia Tech, so we now see the Panthers make their return to the rankings. Otherwise it was a very quiet week in terms of madness from the teams. You almost have to wonder if it is the calm before the storm that is to come this weekend.

What do I mean by this? Well we have Texas vs Texas A&M, Ohio State vs Michigan, Vanderbilt vs Tennessee, Georgia vs Georgia Tech, & Miami vs Pitt just to name a few. Not to mention teams with so much to lose playing a rival that hasn’t lived up to their season expectations... that includes Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Alabama, Virginia, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, & BYU.

Only one more week till conference championships, with many teams’ last chance to show they are one of the top 12 in the nation deserving to play for the national championship. How will all this pressure be handled, from the big ranked matchups to the scary in-betweeners? Will someone get complacent or feel a lil sleepy from Turkey leftovers?
