Jeremiyah Love 4 Heisman

Another Saturday of college football & another eye-popping performance by Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love that sends Twitter & all of social media into a frenzy. As he found the end zone 3 times with 171 yards on only 8 touches... yes I said 8! He had a scoring rate of 38 freakin percent people. This now brings his TD total up to an even 20 on the season with about 1,600 all purpose yards.... oh and only averages 18.5 touches a game. But I'm here to say he not only has the stats but the highlight moments to back it all up.

Going into today he sat as the 5th or 6th betting favorite depending on the sportsbook, but of course here we only go with DraftKings. Though 5th, his odds were still a shocking +1800. Now all of a sudden he has sprinted (yes pun intended, it’s freakin’ JEREMIYAH LOVE) to 3rd on the line at only +500.

Now let’s take a look at what the Heisman Trophy is, the award that is meant for college football's most outstanding player. Whether it be from yards, touchdowns, or just being that elite difference maker on the field. Well, though there are some elite players this year in college football, only one has throughout the season had moments that have taken over the weekend. His name is Jeremiyah Love.

Okay before we get more into Love, we have the two favorites above him to discuss. Both are elite QBs who are having great seasons, but for the most part they are missing the "it" factor that goes along with being a Heisman winner. Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza has been flawless all season & did generate his “Heisman” moment with a wonderful comeback drive to preserve his team’s unblemished season. But can we hand it over to someone who really only has ONE memorable moment? Yes, great stats, great player, but not the buzz you want to feel.

Next we have Julian Sayin, QB for the Ohio State Buckeyes, another undefeated team. For him, great stats, but I think if anything it's been his own coaching staff that could be to blame for his lack of "Heisman moments" to show the nation his skillset. He just has had too many games that have been a yawner. His lack of style points is not his fault, but still needs to be taken into account. We can't be giving awards based on a "wasn't needed" type of scale. Though Sayin if let loose next year could win it with ease(sorry Ohio's Tate but you do get another chance with him)

So this brings us to Love, the one out of the 3 that has seemed to find himself all over college football accounts every week with a play or plays topping his moment from a week before. Whether it was putting 260+ all-purpose on a top-15 USC, or 150+ against a 3rd-ranked Texas A&M, he has been not only consistently elite each week, but his play is THE reason his team is still in the hunt.

I am also sooooo tired of the major argument I see again & again against him is: how can he win it if Ashton Jeanty didn't last year? Seriously??!?! That has to be the worst argument ever. Last season's elite players are completely different from this year. Jeanty just went up against the buzzsaw that was a unicorn in Travis Hunter, him this year would have been a much different story. But to say “oh well a RB can't win it if he didn't last year with that season” is an INSANE take. You basically are saying well no RB can win it again.

Instead look at the tape, social media, & experts, as they are all showing you the same thing: Jeremiyah Love has been the showstopper ALL season. He has the stats, the allure, & the moments. Heisman voters, it is time you do the right thing and give America its Heisman winner they want & deserve... Jeremiyah Love.
