Amatuer Golfer On Another Level

As the Masters Day 1 continues on, we’ve had some fun stories already with the world #1 playing peak form, a 90... yes, that is +18, and many big names in the hunt or within reach. But the whole show may have been stolen by the Spanish amateur out of Arizona State.

Jose Luis Ballester clinched a spot in the 89th Masters by winning the 2024 U.S. Amateur Open, and he is also ranked 4th in the PGA TOUR U. He has played PGA events, including making the cut at the Mexico Open earlier this year, finishing top 20.

Now he gets to freaking tee off with Scottie Scheffler & Justin Thomas... YES! He gets to play a round at the Masters with these two dudes! At the 1st tee, he was seen clapping when they got announced! He knows the situation here! Also, let’s not forget Spanish great & ASU alum Jon Rahm talked him up this week too. This guy is going to be good.

Ohhhhhh I am not here for all that right now... nope we are not here to talk about his quiet +4 opening round play... no no no. Instead, his admittance post-round to peeing in the creek off the 13th tee.

Yes, you read & heard that correctly...he peed in the creek at one of, if not the, most prestigious events in all of sports.

Now, of course, the early outcry is for him to be disqualified, never let back, or “how could he be so dumb?” I am here for the opposite... Like I'm thinking about this one and honestly he may be working on another level here. Let’s think about this: in today's world, what other event could you get away with taking a piss without 100 cell phones posting on 10 social media apps instantly? UMMM ONLY ONE! THE MASTERS!

I gotta call it how it is...Ballester was playing chess while the rest of us are playing checkers, boys.

We all know the internet...without video proof, this will be forgotten by midday tomorrow. This dude, no matter what golf career he ends up with, can now tell the story: "Yeah, I played a round with Scottie Scheffler & Justin Thomas at the Masters... but wanna hear something crazy? I totally took a piss in the creek."

All-time story forever right there.

Even if this dude wins a major one day, I still think he’s leading with that one. How do you not?

This kid did the one thing that most guys who golf have all done...but at the damn Masters.

I don’t think he should be shunned, but instead applauded for his elite-level thinking.

Ballester put his mark on the 89th Masters...we can all agree on that.
