WINNERS & LOSERS OF THE NBA DRAFT LOTTERY
A week and a half ago was the most important day involving ping pong balls since the release of Marty Supreme. It was the NBA Draft Lottery. Some familiar faces, teams wondering how they got there, and probable champs (still unbelievable) got together to see what place they will draft in what is projected to be one of the more loaded draft classes in a long time. THE NBA HAS AN AWARDS PROBLEM
In the 2023-24 season, the NBA implemented a new rule regarding who would be eligible for awards. They changed it to where in order to win an individual award or be named to All-NBA, a player would have had to play 65 games. Also a minimum of 20 minutes played in those 65 games just so no one tried to finesse the system. Pretty reasonable right? That's 79% of an NBA season. THE WIZARDS ARE BUILDING SOMETHING MAGICAL
In case you've been living under a rock, the NBA had its first big trade of the year occur a couple of weeks ago. Actually, the ONLY trade to happen so far this season (praying for an eventful deadline). Trae Young, 4x All-Star point guard, was traded from the Atlanta Hawks to the Washington Wizards for CJ McCollum & Corey Kispert.
