Week 4 Heisman Contenders

What a weekend of football it was! We had revengers, pretenders, and a whole lot of big-time players show up when their teams needed them the most. As we now begin to really dive into conference play for a lot of these teams, the cream of the crop will continue to rise as the picture for the Heisman gets clearer and clearer.

Biggest Risers: Trinidad Chambliss & Lincoln Kienholz

The two battled it out a couple of weeks ago and have not slowed down a bit since. Kienholz, though losing the first ranked battle of the season, has now shown the ability to show up in two big-time games for his team. The youngster is electric and now has his team in a really good spot moving forward in the ACC. Then we have Trinidad, who not only now has two ranked wins, but the team truly won with him carrying them on his back! I had him as the best QB in the nation before the season, and early on he is not making me look bad one damn bit! We now have to hope his RB Kewan Lacy isn't out long-term, as that could hurt his weaponry, but either way, the dude can just flat-out BALL!

Who's in Trouble?

For me, the guy who might get hurt by his team is Jayden Maiava. You have to win a lot of games to win the Heisman, that is just a fact. With that being said, this defense in SoCal is looking rough yet again. BUT here's the thing: this week is a perfect chance to prove me wrong. As the Ducks come to town, a big performance by Jayden will put him firmly among the top contenders!

We still have so much that will unfold in the season ahead. True ball knowers understand these rankings so early in the year are really just for our own amusement and don't get real until around Halloween. Still, I'm a sucker for a list and just being able to talk ball, so who do you want on the list? Who needs to be higher or lower? Sound off on my ass!
