The Kraken are...Dare I Say Watchable?

15 games in, yes, we are only 15 games in, BUT through these 15, the pundits, the media, the CHICLETS(still love the boys) all better start grilling up some good ole crow, cause THAT'S KRAKEN HOCKEY, BABY! All I've heard from social media to podcasts was how unwatchable this team would be, but they have not only jumped out to a 9-5-1 record, dare I say they are downright must-see TV right now!

Okay, look, let me get this out in the open now: playoffs may still be a pipe dream for my boys in the PNW, but to sit there and try to tell me this squad ain't got any juice just shows a lack of puck knowledge! Just to throw a few numbers your way to begin, they are currently top 10 in goals scored per game, including 3rd in 5-on-5 goals scored and 2nd in overall shooting percentage! Those are some numbies to praise for what is considered an "unwatchable" team! Now, are there still some glaring issues like being 30th on the PK? Yes, but again, I'm talking excitement levels here, if they are giving up goals too, people are gonna be psyched outta their minds either way. But you see, it's not just the team; again, all I heard was how "vanilla" my boys were on this roster, no punch, as some even said?

Well, let me introduce you to a kid named Berkly Catton! The 20-year-old is in the midst of a breakout campaign and skates like the wind with the puck on his stick as he creates so many offensive chances every night. Already, he has forced his way into being the 2nd-line center while soaring up the charts in the points lead for players 20 & under in the league right now. He has a shot, he has the hands, and his confidence is growing game by game, this guy is reason enough to tune in every night, win or lose. Though he is not alone, as we are also in the midst of Mackie Samoskevich blossoming as well. Already with 11 points on the season (his previous career high was 32, mind you), he is buzzing around and has some highlight snipes to show the people. Look, you then throw in Vince Dunn's "you never know when the wires will cross" energy, Brandon Montour's heater, and Joey Daccord getting himself into trouble and miraculously getting out of it at the same time in net, and you have a squad!

Alright, I know I'm two-handing it right now on Kraken hockey, but I have to finish it off right. The jerseys... top to bottom, the best in the league, HANDS DOWN! Last night, seeing the boys in the newest hometown remixes was a thing of beauty. So maybe they will find party/losing streaks here and there, but even if the hockey has its ebbs and flows, the jerseys won't, home, away, third, or now hometown remix, you are getting top-tier swag, end of story.

I'm done. Now, could I continue to go on and on, even talk about who is coming up through the ranks (cough Chase Reid cough)? You betcha. Will I? No, I'll save it for another day. Still, this needed to be said: the Kraken are downright watchable in 2026. Will the wins last? I'm not here to talk about that quite yet, check in again after the new year, but in the meantime, how's that crow taste, media?
