Wake Up Barstool Announces FS1 Starting Lineup!

ree

Barstool Sports' highly anticipated partnership with FS1, first revealed in mid-July, now has its centerpiece in the form of a new morning show. The two-hour daily program, officially titled Wake Up Barstool, will premiere on Tuesday, September 2 and air live every weekday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. EST on FS1.

Packed with sports talk, pop culture takes, and the unfiltered Barstool humor that us Stoolies expect, the show is set to shake up FS1's mornings and put Barstool's internet-first brand on national TV in a big way.

I'm not sure that the name has as much pop as the other Wake Up show that Barstool produces, Wake Up Mintzy, but the name is the name.

On Tuesday afternoon, El Pres announced the lineup for the show that you can find below:

Let's dive into the list and talk about each day, and for those who aren't Stoolies or avid Barstool listeners, what they can expect to see from the cast on the specific day.

Monday: Dave Portnoy, Jason Williams, Brandon Walker, and Rico Bosco — I will not be addressing the (for now) and highlighter over Bosco's name in the post at this time. As a full-time Ryder, I believe you'll see the best version of Rico Bosco on FS1, and the ratings will support the fact that the Ryders are the best alliance the company has to offer. On a real note, Dave and BFW have had some fantastic battles back in the day, and I can't wait to see what Portnoy has in his back pocket the first time that he and Brandon disagree on a football take. You couldn't have asked for a better way to start the week than Dave, Rico, and Brandon talking some college football and recapping the NFL from that weekend. Jason Williams was recently announced as the newest Barstool hire, and although I'm not sure what he'll bring to the table when it comes to football, he will more than make up for it when basketball season rolls around. Everyone has had moments where they're bored at home and entertain themselves with some White Chocolate highlights. If you haven't, you're lying, but here you go... I think these four will mesh well together and will be knowledgeable when it comes to football and basketball.

Tuesday: Big Cat, Nick Turani, Eddie Farrer, and T-Bob Hebert — Another great lineup of four people who can entertain and know what they're talking about. Most everyone will recognize the presence of Big Cat right away, but couldn't be more excited (and a little nervous that someone might try to pry them away from Barstool) for guys like Nick, Eddie, and T-Bob, who are genuinely funny. T-Bob came in right away, filling in for Mark Titus on Mostly Sports while he was away for paternity leave, and killed it. He wasn't new to the game, but every time someone new steps in on a big show, we Stoolies always have some doubts at first. However, we can't say enough good things about how knowledgeable T-Bob is, especially given his background as a former college football standout at LSU. Nicky Clicky, please don't leave us. He will inevitably shine on the show with his quick and witty remarks, but I'm eager to see how he performs under the lights, and I am glad he will be getting national recognition. Ed is a knowledgeable guy about all Chicago sports when it comes to talking about them, but also a low-key funny guy who will gel easily with guys like Big Cat and Nick.

Wednesday: Brandon Walker and T-Bob Hebert — I have touched on these two already, but we've gotten a glimpse of the chemistry these two have after sharing the desk at Mostly Sports together. Two of Barstool's most knowledgeable football minds, in my opinion, and a great way to get you through those midweek struggles. Additionally, if you haven't already figured it out, T-Bob is the son of former NFL quarterback Bobby Hebert.

Thursday: PFT Commenter, Mark Titus, Jersey Jerry, and T-Bob Hebert — Who knew that these would be four Barstool personalities together that we didn't think we needed until we got it? That's right. The quartet of PFT, Titus, Jersey Jerry, and T-Bob. I think this group will be slept on heavily. All four of these individuals are accustomed to being in front of the camera and should play off each other well. You'll have PFT, Jerry, and T-Bob there for all your football needs, but then you have one of the most brilliant college basketball minds in Titus whenever the winter comes around. Especially if pranks like this will be allowed to be told on air...

Friday: T-Bob Hebert and Rotating Cast — Glad to see T-Bob on my television screen four out of the five days. He will be great. I can't really say much about this group since we don't know who will be in the rotating cast, but a suggestion I think would be Caller Friday's. Let callers give their plays of the weekend, talk a little Barstool, and show the national audience how some of the best members of Barstool were founded by being allowed to call into shows. This segment is where people like Derik From The Chat, Big Twan, etc. are going to thrive if they can call into a national show. If callers aren't allowed, I'll list some Barstool personalities who I think would be great for some television spotlight.

  1. Liam Blutman

  2. Connor Griffin

  3. KB

  4. Kayce Smith

  5. Ryan Whitney

  6. Rone

  7. Coach Jon Gruden

That list could go on forever, but let me know on X @RyderStoolie or hop into our Stoolie Wednesday Spaces @StoolBreakdown if you have some other options for what the crew can do on Friday's and what you think of the new show!

Personally, I'm excited that Barstool is being given a chance to continue showcasing the great qualities and minds of some of its personalities to a national audience. It should be a memorable ride with Fox Sports one way or another! Until next time, VIVA!
