Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are ENGAGED and Swifties worldwide are (rightfully) losing their minds.
Some people may look upon the Swifties and judge them as crazy lunatics for obsessing over some celebrity's love life, but NOT me. The thing about a guy like me is that I love love. I also love fandoms that get misconstrued and blur the lines of being a fan with lunacy and obsession. Now I'm not telling you that I saw the headline, parked my car, pissed my pants, and called my best friend to make sure they saw the news of Mother's engagement, but if that's you, awesome! Why is screaming at your TV over a Football game you have a rooting interest in any better than cheering on your favorite pop stars' happiness or taking their side in a bad breakup? I don't believe they're that far off. So I say congrats to the happy couple and best of luck, but this wouldn't be much of a blog if I ended it there, so here are two things to take away from this engagement.
Travis Kelce Bounce Back Year/ Retirement Tour

I've seen the contrary to this take all day: "Can't take Kelce in fantasy" or "Kelce's washed" but truly, I don't understand why this is the common view. Kelce's coming off a down year, but so is the entire Chiefs offense. The Chiefs suffered injuries across the offense all season that were finally exposed by the Eagles' defense in Super Bowl LVIII. Coming into this year, they seem relatively healthy and outside of a Rashee Rice suspension seem poised to have a better year on the offensive side of the Football. With weapons like Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown coming into the year healthy and a beefed up O-line, I see no reason why the savvy vet can't find more room over the middle. Additionally, putting a $550,000 rock on the world's biggest pop star might put a pep into the big man's step and allow him to remind everyone why he's one of the best to ever do it.
Taylor Swift Steps Into A New Era

Taylor Swift announced the release of her new album on New Heights, now famously known as her boyfriend's podcast, which also features Jason Kelce, and you could see the excitement in her now fiancé's face as she did. This leads me to believe she plans to be more open than ever with her music, and with 27-29% of her songs currently about breakups, there's a void to fill. Do we get an engagement album? Or how about one about what may be the most anticipated wedding ceremony of our generation? Or maybe she gets knocked up and drops some shit about a Lamaze class she really enjoyed. Either way, I'm here for it.
