The Dozen Trivia League had a week full of heavy hitters, including two Top 10 matchups, with one squad challenging for the top spot. Both matches without a doubt delivered big on entertainment, especially a Frankettes meltdown (and I don’t just mean Frank, the boys as well unfortunately). We also had a third match between two teams trying to find their footing before it’s too late to make a run this season.

Ryders Get a Rude Welcoming from #1 Booze Ponies

The Ryders came into this week’s match flying high after beating the Frankettes, quickly entering title talk. Riding that momentum, they took a shot at the top spot, currently held by the Booze Ponies. But that momentum disappeared fast, as for the first time all season, the Ryders didn’t look sharp.

Maybe it was Rico’s mind being on March Madness, but he was off, scoring just 2 points. If not for Keegs showing up, this could have been an all-time disaster for the #6-ranked Ryders, who fell 18-10.

The Booze Ponies, meanwhile, continue to look nearly unbeatable. Will Compton dropped 6.7 points, and if he keeps contributing at that level, it’s bad news for the rest of the league. We know Dana and Feits can trivia with the best, then throw Will into that mix consistently and this trio becomes a nightmare to face. The target on their backs keeps growing, but they still find ways to stay on top.

Chicago Gets 1st Win Over Gen XYZ

In the second match of the week, Chicago finally found some momentum, taking down Gen XYZ 15-9. It was a solid showing from everyone on the squad—well, except Dave, who didn’t even crack 2 points. There also may have been some niche confusion.

But in Dave’s defense, as a history teacher and someone who’s watched Band of Brothers many times, that was a tough question! It made for a good laugh and didn’t cost them in the end.

As for Gen XYZ, it might be time to hit the panic button. They're out of sync and second-guessing themselves during key moments. The talent is there on paper, but they haven’t put it together. With the regular season winding down, they’ll need to get it figured out fast.

Frankettes Meltdown Gives One to the Experts

It wouldn’t be a Frankettes match without an all-time moment. They’re the team you just can’t turn off. (Yes, I’m biased as they’re my squad, but seriously, how can you not be entertained by these three?)

For most of the match, they looked in control. The Experts played well, but couldn’t keep up—until college football tripped things up. That category has been a killer for them. Brandon swept it and killed their momentum.

Then came the niche round meltdown. Frank finally got his niche, only to miss it and then let it get stolen. Jeff D. Lowe looked ready to hit the boot button. And it didn’t stop there; Nick and KB, tied 12-12, overthought one of the most obvious Snacks & Candy answers ever, giving up another steal.

BUT!!! Even after all of that...the blown lead, the meltdown, the misfires...they still came back to force OT. And in that OT, we got one of the best guesses you’ll ever see. (Seriously, go watch it. Worth it.)

The Experts somehow pulled off the win, dropping the Frankettes to 1-1-1 and putting them in a tough spot. Love 'em, hate 'em, whatever you think—this was an ALL-TIME MATCH.

Tonight’s the first match of the new week. Below is the full schedule, along with updated rankings—which now have the Frankettes at #8, meaning they’d be in the play-in tournament if the postseason started today.

Some big matches are coming up for them. Maybe they’ll pull an Experts move and become bad team merchants to rack up a few wins.
