Move Over Josh Pate: There's a New Sheriff in Town, and His Name Is Brandon F****** Walker

When it was announced on July 15 that Brandon Walker (the multiple winner of the No. 1 College Football Personality presented by Big Game Boomer and James) would be doing a solo college football show, all I could think about is how BFW is going to take over the College Football landscape.

A solo show for a guy who knows how to get fanbases riled up for better or for worse? Yeah, it's absolutely game over for everyone else.

The show will air on the Brandon Walker College Football Show YouTube Channel tonight at 6:00 CT. The video can be found here.

And all this to say I'm not trying to take anything away from the platform that Kayce Smith and others helped build on Unnecessary Roughness over the years because it was a show that gave fans of teams a platform to air out their happiness, sadness, frustration, all while listening to ball knowers talk CFB.

However, if you give Brandon the ball and have everyone space out and get the hell out of his way, the potential is unmatched on what this show can be.

Now, for those who may not know much about BFW or his roots (let's be honest, if you're reading this blog, you certainly have heard of him before), he is a diehard Mississippi State fan who has built connections with coaches, staff members, and others from programs all around the country and has became one of the most notable personalities in the College Football landscape. He isn't a SEC homer who stays loyal to the conference. He tells it how it is and loves to get his boss, Dave Portnoy, riled up about the Michigan Wolverines any chance he gets.

We talked about episode one airing tonight, but of course, the teasers have featured Josh Pate (a college football analyst who hosts Josh Pate's College Football Show). He is a prominent figure who will look to rival Walker as the top College Football podcast.

Besides Pate being on episode one, let's talk about what else we know about the Brandon Walker Football Show already and throw out some ideas that we would like to see on the show throughout the season.

During August, the show will air two times a week on Monday and Thursday. Throughout the CFB season, it will move to three times a week with live callers being able to leave voicemails for now at 312-685-1889.

Perhaps the most important news when the show was announced is that Liam Blutman will be involved with the show. Of course, you won't find a more prominent ball watcher than Blutman and his connections throughout the CFB landscape along with his pure knowledge of players and teams all over the country will help the show. (Also shoutout Lukey Blutman who will be producing the show.)

Excited to see the interviews and guests the show can produce throughout the season and these guys know what they're doing.

Here are a few ideas that I came up with that I hope are part of the show or can be added as segments throughout the season of the show:

— Breaking down games by conferences: I know this one can be tricky during non-con play, but it makes it so much easier for fans who can't watch the show live to go back and listen to the preview or recaps of games for their favorite team if they know it's by conference. Even if the matchup is boring and only talked about for five seconds, going back and being able to easily find where your game is talked about would be a huge relief.

— Liam Blutman G5 recap segment and POTW: You won't find a guy who knows more about the G5 than Blutman. (Again, these are suggestions and ideas without seeing a second of the show, so maybe it already is a segment) Letting him have the floor for a few minutes and recapping G5 games and giving out a Blutman G5 POTW could give casual college football fans more insight for smaller schools trying to sneak into the CFP or what teams to bet on for MACtion time.

— Blutman's favorite Ahmad Hardy run of the week: Now, as a Mizzou fan, let's just hope Ahmad Hardy takes a snap for Mizzou at some point this season, but for longtime Blutman fans, you know his love for the nations best running back runs deep from his time at UL-Monroe.

On a real note, eveyrone involved with this show is going to kill it. I know the nerves can be there for doing a solo show, but that is what Barstool is all about. Trying things out and seeing if they work. I have full faith that this crew will take over the College Football world by the end of the season. Viva!
