I Can't Imagine the Pain of Being a Bills Fan

Alright full transparency, I’m a Patriots fan. It was gonna be mentioned at some point and this is my first blog so why not talk about it now. If my writing at times kind of sounds like I’m a prick, that’s why. I’m not afraid to admit I’ve been spoiled most of life with sports titles and I won $432 on the Chiefs yesterday (shoutout DraftKings King of the Court Promo for my free bet) but I woke up today genuinely feeling bad for Bills fans.
I live in upstate NY so I get it. I'm friends with these people and these poor bastards have rooted for some of the worst teams and quarterbacks I have ever seen (JP Losman I’m looking at you). They lost FOUR Super Bowls consecutively. FOUR. It’s hard to even fathom that. Most of my Bills friends were born post 1990 and thank god because losing 4 consecutive Super Bowls may have actually killed them. They now finally have “the guy” and it’s still nothing but pain. But it’s different pain they are enduring now.
They aren’t a laughingstock or league wide punching bag anymore. They are one of the most talented teams in football year in and year out. They are so close, yet so far away. Patrick Mahomes is their boogeyman. I wish I could say to them it’ll get better but I’m not a liar. Whether it’s Wide Right in ’91, 13 seconds in ’22, or last night’s heartbreaker, you can’t outrun who you are and the Buffalo Bills are losers. I’m not saying it to be mean or rude but it’s time to just accept it and stop getting your hopes up just to have them get crushed on an annual basis. You are LIGHTING YOURSELF ON FIRE for this football team who do nothing but rip out your heart and throw it into 4 feet of snow every. single, year. Enough is enough. I care about these people. In the words of Pedro Martinez, sometimes you just have to tip your cap and call them your daddy. It's time to move on.
