Golf Coverage Gripe

Just as most perfectly sane people over the past two days, I have been locked in on Masters coverage in any way possible. Now, as we have moved into Day 2 of the tournament, I do have one major (no pun intended) gripe about the coverage.

You totally miss a huge amount of golf being played. I know with golf it's nearly impossible to see every golfer, every shot. I’m not saying that before you go calling me a golf noob or something. Instead, I’m speaking on the fact that really, for half...if not more of the round, you get two or three groups and then a few focused holes.

How do we not have a feed that bounces around to all major names, big movers, or just cool/crazy shots???

I mean, I get it for like the John Deere Classic, but this is the FREAKIN' MASTERS!

It’s Friday morning and we have so many big names on the course. We are missing Viktor Hovland, Bryson DeChambeau, and many others. I’m saying this as a HUGE Ludvig Åberg & Rory McIlroy fan, as they are in the focused groups.

I’m just saying you know...what if they just decided not to show the whole 1st quarter of the Super Bowl live, and instead only aired it when Patrick Mahomes was playing? It is a drastic comparison, but lowkey, lowkey kind of works.

You want to know the kicker?? They have cameras on these dudes the whole time, because when the main broadcast begins, we get all the highlights of anyone doing their thing. So why not just show it LIVE?!?

Yes, these are complaints that many see as trivial....but someone needs to step up and say the quiet part out loud!

Why are we paying for ESPN+ then?!?!

Mid blog update: As I am writing this damn rant, DeChambeau is climbing the leaderboards without ONE CHECK-IN!

This must be addressed in the future. We want it all boys...plain and simple. Yes, it may be a sicko request, but one that many of us want and need. Give the sickos what we want: 100% Masters coverage. You can keep the focused groups, holes, and whatnot, but always have a broadcast that jumps around to any golfer making some sort of waves on the course.
