College Football Week 2 Must See Games

We are onto Week 2 in the college football world, many still recovering from the chaos of Week 1. We saw four top-ten teams fall to 0-1, putting themselves in a must-win spot moving forward in this young season. Week 2 doesn’t offer nearly as many big-ticket matchups, but fear not, college football always gives us plenty to keep you glued to the couch all day and night. Let’s see what you need to dial into Saturday:

Iowa at #16 Iowa State — Noon on FOX

Iowa State -3.5, O/U 42.5

Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff is a dandy in Week 2. Yes, I get it, tough to get up after Texas vs. Ohio State, but trust me, don’t miss this. Iowa has a chance early in the season to show this year is different. QB Mark Gronowski for the Hawkeyes looked rough in Week 1, now facing a solid Cyclone defense… though one that might still be a little drained from that Week Zero trip to Ireland. Rocco Becht is legit, though, this finally may not be a punt-off.

Best Bet: Iowa ML +145

Baylor at #17 SMU — Noon on CW Network

SMU -3, O/U 63.5

Playoff alums SMU welcome in a 0-1 Baylor squad with still very high expectations. QB Sawyer Robertson threw for 419 yards against Auburn, so we know he can sling it. This could be one of those classic Texas shootouts we all love, a 45-42 type of finish. SMU looks to get tuned up for what’s shaping into a much deeper ACC this year.

Best Bet: Over 63.5 (yeah it’s high, wake up though people)

#11 Illinois at Duke — Noon on ESPN

Illinois -2.5, O/U 48.5

Trap game? The Fightin’ Illini have playoff aspirations in 2025, but standing in their way is the highest-paid QB in college football, Darian Mensah. Duke wants to make an early statement by taking down a Big Ten contender. Illinois also has a QB ready to lead the charge in Luke Altmeyer. Whoever has the better day decides this one.

Best Bet: Over 48.5

Kansas at Missouri — 3:30 PM on ESPN2

Missouri -6.5, O/U 50.5

The Border War is back, and Ryder Stoolie has a great write-up here: (https://www.barstoolbreakdown.com/post/the-border-war-is-back). A rivalry game in Week 2? Thank you, college football. This should be a good one too, with two of the most exciting QBs to watch live, Jalon Daniels for Kansas and Beau Pribula for Missouri. Both are healthy and sharp early. This is shaping up to be a photo finish.

Best Bet: Beau Pribula 50+ rushing yards +103

#15 Michigan at #18 Oklahoma — 7:30 PM on ABC

Oklahoma -4.5, O/U 43.5

Easily the game of the day. Two blue bloods coming off disappointing seasons looking to prove they’re back. The QB theme continues: freshman Bryce Underwood for Michigan vs. transfer John Mateer for Oklahoma. Both grabbed big NIL bags, both ready to prove it. Norman under the lights is iconic, Underwood better be ready for the hostile crowd and SEC-level defense.

Best Bet: Jaydn Ott TD +155

Boston College at Michigan State — 7:30 PM on NBC

Michigan State -3.5, O/U 45.5

Two teams trying to bust out of mediocrity. The Spartans and Eagles want to show they’re ready for bigger tests later in the season. This is a sneaky good one to keep an eye on if Michigan/Oklahoma doesn’t live up to the hype. Michigan State looked sharp in Game 1, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they keep climbing this week against BC.

Best Bet: Under 45.5

That’s just a few must-sees. We all know the great thing about college football is the weekly surprises. Could we see Oklahoma State take down Oregon? Akron shock Nebraska? Or just the fun chaos UConn vs. Syracuse might bring? Every week we get football is one to remember, let’s not forget that, people.

Bonus Bet: Mark Gronowski 200+ passing yards +326
