With Daboll Out, Do Giants Clean House?

Ladies and gentleman, we got him.
This took far too long in my opinion, and he's lucky he even made it to the 2025 season. Daboll had one good season with the Giants and Daniel Jones and then it went all down hill from there. You simply cannot post three straight 2-8 records after 10 weeks and expect to keep your job, especially being up by at least 10 points in four of those losses in the final quarter of play. Just inexcusable.
Clem said it best here, but this is probably the first domino to fall. I really cannot believe that Shane Bowen still has a job after today too, but here we are. It's crazy to think that this is the most talented Giants team that we've seen since when Eli, Odell and Saquon were leading the offense, and we still can't win more than three games a year.
What's even worse is the talent that we have on defense and that absolute fucking joke of a d coordinator keeps dropping our edge rushers back into coverage. Why on earth is Abdul Carter covering wide receivers literally ever?
Don't get me wrong, the coaches only call the plays and there were PLENTY of missed opportunities to bring down Caleb Williams yesterday, but how we do keep getting ourselves into this situation every single week when we are up by double digits late in the fourth?
I mean that's just an insane graphic. But if you're a true Giants fan, you saw this loss coming from a mile away the moment Russ stepped in the game.
The only thing having me come back for more each week for the rest of this season - except next week because I refuse to watch Russell Wilson's washed ass (pause) trot out there and try to win a game against the Packers when he can barely through the ball past the line of scrimmage - is seeing Jaxson Dart carving up defenses left and right. That kid is must see TV and I am beyond excited for his future in New York, if we can hire a competent head coach.
I mean this kid just cares so much about competing and winning football games, and he's doing it all with Wan'Dale Robinson as his number one receiver, a guy in Darius Slayton who can barely catch a wide open pass, and running backs that can't get the ball past the line of scrimmage.
The argument that Dart is going to struggle because of the head coaching change is a load of horse shit. I don't believe in that at all. You can make the argument that the changes they keep making to schemes will mess with him, but either you're good at the game of football or you're not.
Daniel Jones is having a great season so far, but he has NEVER looked as good as Dart has looked this year, and Jones had a WAY more talented offense to work with than what Dart has working with him right now, so there's not excuse about the coach making a difference.
So where do we go from here? Who is going to be the next head coach of the New York Football Giants?
In all honesty, I have zero fucking clue, but I do know, regardless of how much of a shit show this organization has been for the last decade, this might be the most attractive place for a head coach to land this offseason.
We have a franchise QB, a generational talent at wide receiver when he comes back healthy, an absolute psychopath at running back that will run through a brick wall just to get up and do it again play after play, an offensive line that is finally starting to round out and show competence (don't look at a few plays from yesterday's game), and the most talent we've had on defense since the front four that took down the undefeated Patriots in Super Bowl 42.
I really don't know what the answer is, but right now, my shortlist is as follows:
1) John Gruden - this guy and Dart clearly have chemistry stemming from the QB camp and the supposed communication back and forth each week of the season.
2) Kliff Kingsbury - offensive mindset that has worked with young QB's and been successful in the past and has a young personality that would hopefully keep up with Dart and Skatt's passion for the game.
3) Zac Taylor (if available) - he's had a ton of success in Cinci despite an injury prone Joe Burrow and a defense that isn't nearly as talented as ours.
As far as the offensive and defensive coordinator are concerned? Kafka can stay for all I care. If he's been the one working with Dart and calling plays, then I'm all for him staying at least one more season.
Defensive coordinator? Bring him on home to where he belongs - he already made it clear that he wants the job, and I can't think of a better candidate than Antonio Pierce.
Full disclaimer on everything, I have never played a snap of football in my life, but I have played a lot of competitive sports, including college soccer, and the one thing I learned from playing sports is that you can have all the talent in the world on your roster, but if you don't have a leader that can drive you to win games, you got nothing.
All I know is that for the first time in a very long time, I have hope as Giants fan for the future. Dart is so damn good and he keeps getting better week after week, he just has to learn when to go down instead of trying to be the hero (that he already is).
If you're seriously shocked that Daboll got fired, please try to defend this man, especially after kicking a field goal on fourth and goal from the 1 yard line when you're 2-7 and have nothing to lose. Just an absolute fucking joke of a decision. Zero balls on that guy and is one of the many reasons why your ass is out the door today. Good riddance.
