Golf fans, the long drought is finally over. We not only have major golf this week but the return of The Masters at Augusta. With the state of the golf world as it is, these four majors feel like they're at an even higher anticipation level than ever before. Last year, we got to see that historic Rory McIlroy fourth round leading to him finally completing his Grand Slam. Now, we enter 2026 with a Masters field that some are calling one of the most wide-open in years.
In past years, you would think the easy answer would yet again be Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, or even a Rory repeat. Though this year, things feel a little different down in Georgia. The list of names of those who could put on that green jacket Sunday is longer than we have seen in years, as many are playing in top form while some of the big dawgs have looked a little sluggish or "leaking oil" out the gates in 2026. A perfect storm in golf's first major of the year is brewing right before our eyes.
Players are already all over social media hitting the course to begin their prep work. Although some rain hit the area this past week, it doesn't look to be a major threat to the tournament schedule as of now, just another good sign for us.
Masters week is easily one of the best we get in the calendar year. It's time to take it in and begin to look at the betting boards to find the best ones to sweat out as we enjoy the beauty of Augusta. I will have some names to know, dark horses, best bets, fun bets, and much more to come this week. This always feels like the first sign of summer being around the corner and all the great golf we have sitting before us. The 2026 Masters is here.
