Week 3 Preview: The Dozen Trivia

Following a week that featured a major upset by a new franchise & two of the more popular teams righting the ship, we somehow have an even better schedule to look forward to in Week 3. Sabre, coming off their major upset of Minihane, will look to ride the wave into a winning streak, highlighted by a Sunday night special that may shake the core of the South.

Before we get into the preview, I’m also excited to add the official Dozen Trivia Network as a collaborator for all odds going forward, including the graphics. Make sure to keep an eye out for their own other updates around the league as well.

Here are the newest official rankings going into Week 3 of the season:

Tuesday Night

#9 Sabre (1-0) vs #4 Uptown Balls (1-0)

With Sabre’s big upset over Minihane last week, all of a sudden this becomes a major matchup with Uptown Balls. Blutman, Mad Dog, & Meek Phil are now officially entering prove-it territory. Was the upset a fluke, or are they truly contenders? On the other side, we have the new-look Uptown Balls, who early on have looked sharp, even after the outrageous allegations against Rone that were rightfully squashed quickly. Will the new kids on the block take down another mainstay?

1. Who takes college basketball? Liam Blutman vs. Tommy Smokes should be a hell of a show.

2. What gets doubled? Both teams are strong in Mash-Up, MLB, & Music. Could someone steal a double?

3. Rone vs. Meek, both can bring the troll game. Who out-wits who on the big stage?

Thursday Night

#16 Ice People (0-0) vs #15 Ice Dogs (0-0)

Perfect timing coming off an unforgettable weekend for U.S.A. hockey, as the men’s & women’s teams swept the Olympics, we get Barstool’s two ICE squads squaring off. Here’s to hoping there’s NHL & Olympic Hockey on the board to double up the hockey content for these teams.

While they may be bringing up the rear and could be considered the “basement bowl” by some, on the flip side this is a massive statement opportunity for either Ice People or Ice Dogs to show they’re on the right trajectory toward playoff contention.

Sunday Night Showdown

#5 Po’Boyz (1-0) vs #2 Experts (1-1)

The showdown the South has been waiting for as T-Bob & Mintzy take on Brandon Walker. With the Po’Boyz coming off their first franchise win, they now have the daunting task of facing the defending champions. The Experts may also have a little extra juice after losing the Big Game Classic championship to Ziti. Add in the Mintzy vs. B-Walk dynamic, and we’ve got ourselves a classic in the making.

1. College football: some of the top minds in football all in one match, a double-double in play?

2. Fran vs. KenJac in pop culture, a sneaky fun clash no one is talking about.

3. Will the Experts be locked in, or is overconfidence a concern?

Big matchups & the ice crews give us a loaded Week 3 of trivia to look forward to. As more teams make their debut and others continue building their playoff résumés, the picture will start to clear. Sabre & Po’Boyz have massive opportunities in front of them this week, can they take advantage?
