WE HAVE A BRACKET: Immediate Reaction

The bracket has finally arrived!!! Now of course, an in-depth analysis is not here yet, though I will look at all the matchups to find us all the favorites, dark horses, and Cinderellas this week. But stick with me on this cause that takes time—let’s just take in the bracket for now.

First, starting with the number one overall seed, Auburn—though lets be honest here they did not seem to get that draw at all! Louisville or Creighton in the second round is crazy! Of the 1-seeds, you gotta say it… DUKE got a freaking draw! These dudes got a cakewalk to the Elite 8—might as well sit Cooper Flagg till then to get him back to 100%… damn.

Now, let's hit the bubble. HOW IN THE WORLD is North Carolina in?? 1-12 against Quad 1 teams and a Quad 3 loss at home! Geez, committee, you are just blatantly playing favorites!!! Which of course makes sense with the UNC athletic director on the DAMN THING! This ACC conference did not deserve an extra team in, plain and simple. To further this point—how do you put the #2 team in the ACC as an 8-seed, and then put in UNC? I'm sorry, but both of those things can’t happen, boys.

Now, onto the 14 teams in from the SEC. I’m personally not as up in arms about that—maybe only one between Texas & Oklahoma should have gotten in, but they did pull off some big wins late.

Overall, this committee got REAL weird with the seedings this year. Gonzaga at 8 but Purdue at 4?? Now yes, yes, yes, I'm a homer—being a lifelong Zag fan—but how does that make sense when you compare metrics and records side by side? Memphis as a 5 is very high, Louisville as an 8 is very low, and Michigan as a 5 and Wisconsin a 3—all head-scratchers.

Still, through it all—man, these matchups in the first round and all the potential future ones are going to be ELECTRIC! BYU vs. VCU, Gonzaga vs. Georgia, Purdue vs. High Point, Louisville vs. Creighton, Memphis vs. Colorado State, and so, so much more. Can it be THURSDAY NOW??

Anyways like I said, no predictions in this one tonight. Those will come throughout the week as I begin to break down the matchups. So for now—let’s just take in this glorious bracket, with endless possibilities and arguments on how our teams can win it all!
