Transfer Portal is Off & Running, Harwell is a ZAG!

Isaiah Harwell is a Gonzaga Bulldog! Something we all thought would happen finally came true a year later. Harwell's commitment is the first transfer pledge for the Zags this offseason, and it hopefully gets the ball rolling for big roster moves going into the summer.

Harwell is a massive first transfer to bring in. Although his freshman year numbers don't jump off the charts and some may even question his former five-star recruit status, hold up! While the numbers weren't the best, Kelvin Sampson was recently quoted saying that injuries hampered Harwell's freshman campaign and he felt a breakout was incoming for the soon-to-be sophomore. Sampson even went further, wishing Harwell could have stayed in Houston.

The need for an elite athletic defender with scoring potential was high for the Zags following the loss of Jalen Warley, Tyon Grant-Foster, and Emmanuel Innocenti. Harwell checks off that first box with some scoring punch potential. That said, a big man and a three-point specialist are still very much on the Zag wish list. This is a wonderful start to what is hopefully a big week ahead. The Zags' Pac-12 tenure is off to a HOT START!
