The New York Mets Are Awesome

This is, by far, the best Mets team I have ever seen. At 21-9 - and what should be 23-7 - this team is fun, they are electric, they engage the crowd, Citi Field is loud, and the owner FINALLY understands how to put together a winning team.
I can hear Yankee fans reading this already - "Soto hasn't done shit. Complete waste of money. Do it in the playoffs."
Yeah I get it, a $765 million dollar man should be hitting a lot better than what he has been, sure. But that's what I love about this team. We are putting up 7+ runs a game and Soto is barely contributing. Just wait until he gets hot.

Read it and weep pinstripe boys. Six spots ahead of ya and first team to 20 wins on the season. L.F.G.M.
Oh and btw, check this out.
Don't let him get hot folks.
Now again, I get it. It's only April, sure. But this team is doing EXACTLY what they should be doing against every opponent so far this season: beating up on the shit teams and keeping it close with the good teams (despite an abysmal loss to the Nationals on Sunday).
Despite a 1-3 start to the season, against teams .500 or better, they have a record of 7-4 (this is after starting 1-3 to Houston), and against teams .500 or worse, they are 14-5.
Ok, Yankee fans, I know, I know, "They should have a better record against shitty teams". Yeah that's the point. The Mets of old would be struggling to win against teams like Toronto, Miami and Washington. And yes, they split the series against the Nats, but that game on Sunday was atrocious and I'm 100% positive they will not blow a lead like that again this season.
Also, numbers never lie.
Only April, but if you had told me back in January that this would be true, I'd have laughed in your face. Without Manaea and Montas, I guess you can say that's a pretty good line.
AND you can say goodbye to the ole adage of Francisco Lindor playing like shit in April (all while the Mets have an 19-7 record this month).
Oh, and this was before a two-run homer against the D-Backs on Tuesday night.
Not only are all of these stats fantastic, but we were supposed to have one of the worst bullpens in the league this year, and boy did we debunk that one so far this season.
Just another best in baseball stat, no big deal.
All the while Pete Alonso is earing every penny of that contract signed this year (which will ultimately haunt the Mets when he opts out after winning MVP this season and signing with the Braves and kills us for the next decade). But hey, I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts.
And we are doing this all before Grimace's birthday!
Really the only complaint that I can possibly make this season is this:
I mean what the fuck is that Marte?!?!?! The ole' reverse Ronaldo? You've been clutch this season but YIKES.
I know it's early, but after tonight's win against Arizona and with what might be the craziest 1-2-3 inning of all time, this team already has me on the same high as the playoff run last year.
