We are flying through the Dozen Trivia League's season this year as teams continue to find their footing. This past week, we had three matches featuring many big hitters. All three matches had their moments, though unfortunately, some included the lowest of lows. Let’s go ahead and get this thing started with Tuesday’s matchup.
IceDogs Fall Hard Again to Minihane
Another week and another comical loss for our lovable IceDogs as Minihane & Co. did not hold back against them. This was an all-around dominant team performance. Kirk led the way with 13.7 points, but Klemmer pitched in with 10.7, and Robbie added 8.7 of his own. This team coming into form could be trouble for the league—we already know from the past how Kirk can dominate certain categories. Now, with Klemmer & Fox alongside him, they are definitely a title contender. Mini-Fans just have to hope there are no hiccups that force Kirk to blow it up midseason (as he usually does).
As for our IceDogs… oof. The boys looked like they had turned a corner near the end of last season, becoming quite competitive, but this season has been very different. Now, I will say in their defense—they are playing only Quad 1 teams. Okay, so actually, maybe they have a plan and are pulling a North Carolina. I heard a rumor that Ryan Whitney or Oldie is on the committee and might sneak their boy Yands into the playoffs. We need the rumor boys of Chiclets to confirm ASAP. Anyway, unless they have an insider on the committee, the Dogs are headed for a quick exit this season.

Uptown Balls Back in the Win Column
After a tough loss, Uptown Balls was looking for a bounce back, and they sure got it. Led by Tommy Smokes, but also rookie Hannah Montoya had some very clutch moments, including another highlight in her unique niche—Art History. She added a career-high 6.7 points as well. The depth of this league this year is crazy, with so many championship-worthy teams. Balls are one of them when they are on their game.
Macrodosing with another meh performance. Now, this is nothing against Big T, Maddog, or Arian personally, but as a team, they are just dry to watch. There’s not a lot of entertainment value, and on top of that, their trivia knowledge isn’t strong enough to make up for the lack of energy. Hopefully, they prove me wrong and bring some spark in their next match, but right now, they may be in danger of relegation status.
Yak Welcomes Grinders to the Bad Boy Way of Trivia
The Grinders continued their tough welcome to the league with another top-tier opponent in The Yak. The Grinders seemed outmatched from the start, as The Yak jumped on them early and controlled the game the whole way. Liam Blutman may be getting labeled as a no-show in the big one, as he seemed way off his game. Though, in his defense, most of the questions were from the late ‘90s or early 2000s—which he has said in the past is way before his knowledge era. He may have to start studying up because, for this team to compete, they need him to score much better than 2 points. Gruden & Co. will hopefully get a much softer matchup next time to have a real chance to compete.
The Yak, on the other hand, was led by a masterful performance by Rone. He was locked in in what seemed to be every category, with Cheah right there to back him up, as both finished with 7.7 points. The big question from this win—can they only beat Blutman? Both of their season victories have come against him (he subbed in for Macrodosing). Their next match will almost certainly not have Blutman on the other side, so this could be their big chance to prove all the doubters wrong.
A Brutal Lowlight of the Week
What a week it was in the Dozen League, but… one thing I HAVE to mention—though it pains me—was the lowest of lows. The Grinders called a friend legend and Barstool Breakdown Blogs’ very own Reed, and he missed their call. This is one we all know will haunt him. Jake Malasek needs to give the guy another shot. This can’t be how we let the story end. We’ll all be looking for his redemption next time out for the Grinders.

Alright now onto next week! Also don't forget it's a Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday schedule due to March Madness! Here is the matchups!
