Last night, we all witnessed the entire internet come together as hockey fans for a couple of hours. The Four Nations tournament hit its peak as the USA faced Canada in Montreal. With boos raining down on the Americans as their anthem played, the suspense boiled over leading up to puck drop. Finally, with all eyes on the ice, FIGHT NIGHT began! Three fights within the first 10 seconds had the entire sports world glued to this battle.

Oh, the NBA, you ask? What were they doing at this time? Well, as the best hockey athletes in the world did this...
We then had the stars of the NBA doing this...
The Spurs duo was then disqualified. For those a bit confused by this video, the balls they aimlessly tossed away were supposed to be shots. Yes, they were so lazy that some of the best athletes in the world couldn’t even complete a practice drill correctly. As a basketball coach, last night was embarrassing for basketball as a whole.
Now, of course, here come the NBA stans: "bUt BuT BUt DiD yOu SeE THe DuNk ConTeST?!?" Oh, you mean the one where a guy who can't even play in a real NBA game came in and did two wild dunks against a bunch of rookies and scrubs? Coooooooool.
Umm, did you see when hockey’s LeBron James got leveled in an All-Star event?
The NHL has completely put the BTA this year in All-Star events. They had their best not only participating but competing against each other as if it were playoff hockey. And here’s the kicker… WE MIGHT GET TO SEE A REMATCH!
The NBA needs to figure something out soon because they can’t keep relying on a G Leaguer to save their All-Star night. And, of course, right on cue, we got the yearly tweet from their All-Stars.
Never fails...the big boys tease it, and then next year, we’ll get a G Leaguer vs. two second-round rookies and some 11th man with mid-tier hops. YAWN! The NBA better step up soon because next year, they'll be competing with the Olympics. And if NHLers are in that, things are going to get wild after this Four Nations tournament.
The NHL easily takes the crown for All-Star events this year, completely outshining whatever the NBA rolled out and the NFL’s flag football game. Let’s give them their flowers and hopefully enjoy a major rematch for the Four Nations Cup championship this week.
