Marcus Freeman Declines NFL and Remains With Irish

I don’t think the Notre Dame faithful were surprised with the Monday afternoons notification's. Heavy speculations of Marcus Freeman’s departure were coming from non Notre Dame sources.
So it was really no surprise to the fans to see this news break. So what does this mean?
I think the goal is pretty simple and at this point in the program I would consider very obtainable. National Championship trophy or nothing at all, the standard at Notre Dame for a very long time. This played into so many variables as to why Coach Freeman would not leave.
His recruiting is on pace to finally arrive with a rivals fourth ranked class of 2026 where Notre Dame currently has four 5 star recruits. Linked below with a list of the recruiting standings.
The same result is in the works for the future years as well. It’s pretty easy to understand that the young student athletes believe in what Marcus Freeman and staff are building in South Bend Indiana. We can also just take a look at this season reflection wise to see how well Freeman can perform in the new college portal. Getting players like Malachi Fields (Virginia) , Will Pauling (Wisconsin), Devonta Smith (Alabama) , and more key players. Look for him to do the same this year after being snubbed from the playoff. This gives coach and staff a head start on working towards getting the correct pieces to the puzzle put together before spring camp begins.
