In Case You Forgot...CORBIN BARRELS!

As we all know, the MLB season is quite long, and with big events happening all around the sports world...including Game 7s in the NBA and NHL, while underdogs take golf major championships, sometimes casuals may lose sight of the true stars of the game. So just in case you may have lost yourself in the sauce, Corbin Carroll is still THAT DUDE!

Today, I knew I needed one hell of a palate cleanser after my guys in Philly, Rory McIlroy & Ludvig Åberg, got RAI'd in the ass! Well, in stepped our guy Corbin with two home runs, including a massive 448-foot bomb! That brings his season average up to .278 with 7 HRs now, which puts him on pace for 30 on the season. Yes, the guy who missed most of spring training with an injury that is said to "take away" your power for months is still on pace to hit 30 bombs!

After his hot start out of the gates, Carroll had cooled a bit in recent weeks, as all players do at times in the grueling season that is the MLB. BUT over the past 7 games, he is hitting .348 with an OBP of .531! For those who are a little behind, this means he is getting on base, on average, just over 1 out of every 2 times he steps up to the plate. Billy Beane would be so damn PROUD!

Being my first year out east as a lifelong Dbacks fan, I must say it has been tough, as I have missed some games. But with their road trip this past week hitting at the perfect time, I have gotten to see every bit of Carroll's elite skillset, yet again leaving me shocked at how he is not a household name around the nation. The way he can hit for average & power, steal bags, & play the field make him a top 10 player in the league without a doubt. I think it's just no one pays attention to my Dbacks sadly...we should bring back the ol' purple & teal to catch some eyes or something!

I do get it a bit though, as someone who is currently on the east coast: watching the west coast teams is not for the weak with these start times. But you gotta up the caffeine intake a few nights a week just to see this man play ball. Just to see one liner in the gap as Carroll tries for third, one slide into second as he steals another bag, or some of these bombs coming from a 5'10", 170-pound dude that leave you speechless.

As a Dbacks fan, I am sooo glad we don't have to worry about contract talks with Carroll for at least 4 more years. Corbin Barrels needs to be a lifelong Snake! In the meantime, baseball fans, get in on the Corbin action ASAP!
