There’s been a narrative that feels like it’s been building up since Coach K retired that Duke Basketball is no longer a hated entity. This is a blog but more so an intervention for people that are starting to lose that feeling of disdain for Jon Scheyer’s team. When a narcacistic sociopath coaches for what feels like a hundred years and hands the baton off to a seemingly likable and well-respected genuine guy, that can happen. Don’t let Jon Scheyer take away years of (valid) hate that we have built up for this school.

Don’t let Jon Scheyer take away Grayson Allen being one of the dirtiest athletes in basketball and Coach K suspending him for just one game

How dirty do you have to be to have a compilation of all your dirty plays? The answer is you have to be Grayson Allen in a Duke uniform level dirty. Total bitch made behavior over and over again. Coach K brought the hammer down on Allen and suspended him ONE WHOLE GAME. Great job running a tight ship, Coach.

I just don't get it. Let them have their moment. Don't reprimand them and try to take that away from them. It's not your place. Unreal behavior from a grown adult.

It makes me smile knowing how much it must have sucked watching your bitter rival steamroll you on your home floor in your final home game there, especially when you have an ego like this guy. If I ever meet Hubert Davis I owe him a beer for this day.

What's worse than losing your last home game to the team you hate more than anyone after a 40 year career? A few weeks later losing to the exact same team in the Final Four and ending your career. Nothing makes me happier than knowing UNC ruined Coach K's retirement tour. Caleb Love, thank you for your service.

Don’t let Jon Sheyer take away the Duke being cringiest people on the planet

This one is admittedly low hanging fruit. I find the Every Time We Touch thing bizarre but harmless. I wonder if the Duke fans around the country who have no affiliation whatsoever to the university or even state that inexplicably but passionately root for them listen to this song and do the dance too.

Please just remember Jon Scheyer cannot erase what Coach K has built. He can't erase what you feel in your heart when you see that Duke jersey. As for the game this weekend, it should be a great one. Houston is tenacious. they rebound the ball so well and play an in your face style defense that can be tough to adapt against. Duke is loaded and has the ability to beat you in multiple ways. It should be an interesting matchup but we are all Houston Cougars on Saturday.
