How About Some Week 1 Fun Bets! Oh & Go Bills!

The 2025 NFL first Sunday has finally arrived. After two great appetizers on Thursday and Friday night, we’re ready for a full slate of games ending with a heavyweight battle in Buffalo. Though it’s tough not to look ahead to Sunday Night Football with the Baltimore Ravens taking on the Bills, make sure you don’t! Before I get into Sunday night, let’s take a look at some really good bets to think about taking but... of course remember no guarantees:

Bengals at Browns

The Bengals can score it, so this one has “high scoring” written all over it. The over is fun at 48.5, a 35-20 type of game feels very possible. But the bet I’m really loving is Joe Flacco 280+ passing yards (+207). Their RB situation is iffy, and the expectation is they’ll be battling from behind all 2nd half. Add in a still-questionable Bengals defense... how do we not bet on Ole Man Joe?

Buccaneers at Falcons

This is another one where there’s true love with the over again at 47.5. But I see something spicier: Bucky Irving 2 TDs at +425. He catches passes so well, which helps his odds of finding the end zone, and with Evans & Godwin healthy, defenses should be keyed in on them more often than not.

Steelers at Jets

This one is an “if you’re feeling lucky” type of bet. I expect Justin Fields to be on the run a lot, so why not sprinkle on him as the game’s rushing yards leader at +260? The Steelers use multiple backs, which could keep their numbers lower. Just a fun one to throw out there.

Texans at Rams

Believe in Stroud! Let’s go big... CJ Stroud 300+ passing yards at +425. Why not? No Mixon, and Nick Chubb coming off another major injury, means more passing. They’ll need to put up points to stay in this one.

I’ll include my Sunday Funday parlay at the end, but let’s get into SNF. A matchup of what could be the top two QBs in the league (Burrow, Mahomes, and Herbert might argue otherwise though too). This one could matter for tiebreakers later, and yeah, I know it’s crazy to say that in Week 1, but both of these teams believe they can win it all.

Josh Allen, fresh off his MVP season, wants to keep the momentum rolling, but he’s made it clear it’s all about winning now. Stats and awards mean nothing if he doesn’t get the Bills to the promised land. Will this be the year? Who freakin' knows. Come on! It’s Week 1, relax people.

Allen will be the Ravens’ problem, just like Lamar Jackson will be Buffalo’s. I expect a back-and-forth heavyweight fight. That’s why my bet of the week is Josh Allen 250+ passing yards, as Baltimore will look to keep him in the pocket.

Also, I’ll be betting Bills ML. I have to as a Bills fan...that’s pure emotional betting. You’ve been warned. Everything else in here though I swear comes from diligent research… though not as much research as the dude I saw today carrying a full notebook into the sportsbook. Maybe next time I’ll ask him for a couple plays. Either way, good luck to all our bets, and GO BILLS!
