Gonzaga PAC 12 ERA is ON!

With our calendars turning over to July 1st overnight, while for most it is just the start of a new month, for Gonzaga, it’s a whole new world beginning. July officially kicks off the new college sports calendar year, putting our Bulldogs in the Pac-12!

This also comes hours after the new Pac-12’s conference tournament format and venue were announced, at least for the next two seasons for basketball. It will be taking place in Vegas, a very familiar city for conference tourneys for our Bulldogs! As with most tourney formats, the top two seeds are the game changers, getting double byes to the semifinals.

With the new era jump-starting, conference tournament news, and...you can’t forget the clips of practices coming out, the buzz around Gonzaga basketball is riding high! Though the portal gave us, in a numbers sense, the biggest hit we’ve ever seen, Coach Few and his staff didn’t blink. They have brought in a mix of transfers, big-time US recruits, and international studs. Let’s also not forget a great core of talent that stayed in Spokane.

Many way-too-early rankings have the Zags all over the place from top 5 to top 25, but the clips from practices look very promising that this squad could make some noise in the brand-new era of Gonzaga sports. While I will miss the historic gyms of the WCC, I am ready for the new challenge in front of Gonzaga basketball in the new Pac-12. A new domination streak starts with one...let’s go BULLDOGS!
