Getting Back into Golf: Part 2

In case you missed it, I blogged about my summer goal of getting back into golf about a month ago. I have been golfing my whole life (even on the team in high school) but have kind of fallen off the past few years and because I live in a year-round golf state, I decided that I'm getting back into it.
This weekend was round 2 of me getting back into golf. It was 90 degrees, high humidity, and I was sweating like a whore in church. I'm still not great, but I am getting better. I can feel it when I swing. One thing about me is I slice like it's nobody's business, but this weekend I found my drive in the fairway (sometimes even farther than expected) more times than not and that felt really fucking good.
Look, I know my swing is not the prettiest, but she's getting the job done and she will be better by the end of the summer. I don't remember what I shot and that's fine. But just know amongst the triple and quadruple bogies, I had a few pars and a birdie so that's a win for me.
This was a really nice course with a lot of water, and I am a water magnet no matter what. I just get in my head. Even if the water was like 3 feet in front of me, I would still end up topping the ball and losing it to the water. I think I need to stay away from the nice courses until I feel more confident and stick to the park district courses. Then, I will slowly ease my way into the nice stuff.

My putting still needs a lot of work. Reading the greens is so hard to me, so I can never tell how hard or soft to hit it and usually end up smoking it way past the whole. However, that birdie I mentioned up there, was from a really long putt (just like Brandon's putt, not to brag) and that felt really good.
Here is my rose and thorn for part 2 of getting back into the swing of things (pun intended):
Rose - I birdied a whole and parred a couple
Thorn - I lost like 9 balls to the water lol

Keep following along for my journey back to the links. xoxo
