Corbin Barrels... Again for Diamondbacks

A sight to see for Diamondbacks fans as we are now roughly 3 weeks into the season, and Corbin Carroll's stats & attitude are a complete 180 from last year. He looks re-energized and rockin this year!
Right off the bat (no pun intended), we all need to understand MLB has a very long season full of ups and downs, ebbs and flows, hot streaks & slumps... if there’s a name for it, the season has it. So yes I know very well he will hit some bumps as all players do. I am hear for this start.... I mean with the change to his stance too...is not only encouraging, but has to be confidence building as well for him.
Last year, Carroll had one of the worst starts I’ve seen in a long time. This was coming off a Rookie of the Year campaign with an NL pennant to boot. Through the first month of the 2024 season...a slightly bigger sample size he hit .188, with 1 HR, 5 RBIs, and only a .248 SLG%.
This year, in about 40 fewer at-bats, he’s hitting .333, with 5 HRs, 10 RBIs, and a .698 slug%. It is a fact: when Corbin is barrelin’, this team has a different attitude.
Last year, he struggled really all the way into the All-Star break before having a very productive second half. If he can find the consistency, we may have another All-Star season on our hands. I do realize the numbers he has now...which include a 1.123 OPS, may not be realistic to hold for a full year, but if he can even out around .280, that would be amazing for us Dbacks fans.
When Carroll is playing like this, he’s a top 5 most exciting player to watch, I will fight anyone on this till one of us punches each other if need be. His speed alone is something to see, then you add in the gap-to-gap power...it’s such a pure style of baseball. Also, for those who don’t know, we are currently missing Ketel Marte, one of...if not the best second basemen in the league. So Corbin is doing this with less protection in the lineup around him.
Dbacks baseball is must-see right now, as they continue with their Answerbacks mantra—with two huge late-inning comebacks, including Saturday night when they broke a 17-inning scoreless streak, down 4 runs in the 9th. They won. 5-4. Led by a 2-run rocket off the wall by... CORBIN CARROLL. A hit, by the way, that would’ve been a game-tying home run in 24 of 30 MLB parks. Yes, I needed to include that!
Again, I don’t expect it to be all peaks this year out of Carroll, but we need to praise and enjoy the great moments in hopes they last even longer through the grueling 162-game season.
Right now, Carroll is en fuego... Yes, I do love it...the sweet sounds of Corbin... BARRELS.
