Can we call it as it is? The TGL is CORNBALL VIBES.

We are now a few weeks into the TGL, which, for those who don’t know, is the simulation golf league created by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. I believe it’s time to assess it truthfully.
Now, to start off...I’m a BIG Rory stan, and who doesn’t love golf, call themselves a golf fan, and say Tiger is GOAT status? So this is NOT some hater because you’re a hater type of take.
Let’s be honest with each other for a moment like, cut it out this is such CORN BALL stuff. We are literally watching golfers practice. Seriously, this is how they practice when they can’t get out to a course. What’s next? A league of MLB players hitting or pitching in a simulator? I mean, there’s a reason the Home Run Derby is only once a year, and even that gets stale by the end of the night.
I know what you’re thinking: This guy isn’t a golf dude. Oh yeah? I’m pretty sure most of you don’t even know the stateside tournament that takes place on the afternoon/evening after The Open Championship ends... but I DO. And yes, I watch it. I love golf in its purest form players working to figure out the course, the weather, and their opponents.
This? This ain't it.

Now, maybe Billy Horschel singlehandedly killed this league for me but that’s okay.
Let’s be real, though. Are you seriously watching dudes hit a ball at a giant screen over a top-10 matchup like Kentucky vs. Tennessee basketball? If you are, it’s time for a sports check. It happens we let the hype get to us...but we’re here to course-correct(PUN INTENDED).
Now, if you’re just that sports-starved in the summer, I get it. But right now? The choices are there. I mean, come on Gonzaga basketball was on last night!
Let’s keep golf where it belongs...outside and on the weekends.
