Barstool After Dark: Take Me Out to The Ballgame

Just another Tuesday night at Wrigley… right? Not for our Barstool After Dark team, as Tate has assembled the Avengers squad of Barstool beer & dog peeps. The objective? 99 beers, 99 hot dogs, 9 innings, all at Wrigley Field as the Cubbies take on the Royals. The office and social media are already buzzing in anticipation for this challenge, so let’s take a look at the lineup.

Already, we of course have some of the competitors are throwing out numbers...including my guy Katic claiming 20/12, and I am personally confident in him backing up the talk tonight. Meanwhile, Eddie already has concerns about some celebrities' influence on the motivation of his fellow competitors, warning them not to rely too hard on the star power. Which is a fair point, especially when you’ve got two of the most well-known competitive eaters in the professional and amateur scenes.

For those who don’t know Ronnie Doitche(seriously look him up!!!), his chugging abilities have taken the sports world by storm over the past couple of years, going up against Baker Mayfield, Travis Kelce, and so many other big-time athletes and celebs. Then of course we’ve got the legendary eater and certified athlete Joey Chestnut. But there's a HUGE asterisk next to his name tonight, he’s not allowed to consume hot dogs, only beers.

While we’re on the topic of twists, another big one: consumption of beer or hot dogs only counts if given to the competitors by Lucas himself as told by Tate himself on the Yak yesterday. Yeah, so this won’t become a problem… right? I mean it's not like even sober Lucas gets into with the after dark competitors...ever. And now the whole group will be growingly drunk and upset-stomached, while racing against time with only this one guy handing off what they need o them. Should be nothing but a pleasant, easy-going night for Lucas… of course.

The big question...who from the Barstool crew could be the leader or surprise the audience the most? My pick: Eddie. I think he’ll be the silent leader. He already spoke on The Yak about being prepared to carry his own weight and not be affected by the star power of Doitche & Chestnut surrounding him. He may be the one to be able to hold all of his fellow competitors accountable throughout the night, without there being any sort of conflict with him.

With this lineup, though, we already know the vibes are going to be sky-high. When you’ve got the drinks flowing and the dogs grilling, how can they not get the entertainment rolling? I truly do have faith that this challenge will be achieved, and that it’ll be a very memorable stream. How can you not root for a squad with Dana Beers, T-Bob, Eddie, and so many other greats charging at this thing full steam(no pun intended, I swear) ahead?
