Barstool After Dark: 3 Fixes for Short Form

Tonight we saw the return of Barstool After Dark... kinda. Alright, let me start this by saying the actual content was great stuff. We saw some funny guys in great moments... BUT, yes, there's always a "but"! Did it meet the expectations of the crazed and quite unique fanbase of After Dark? Short answer... No. So, how do we avoid this situation in the future? Was this a simple miscommunication, or are us as a fanbase just always wanting more? Either way, here are 3 ways to still get "short-form," "condensed" types of After Darks without the outrage:

  1. Give it a name

When it is one of the weeks in which we are not getting the full After Dark experience we know, it has a "title." It's Mini After Dark, Highlight After Dark, or Tate's favorite: Short Form After Dark. When there is a specific name for this, then we know what it is, rather than this sort of middling unknown that we may have felt going into the video this week.

  1. Make it "Featuring After Dark"

So instead of these being Barstool After Dark, flip it. During the regular, full-run After Dark, it's at times featuring KB, Nick, or Dana B. Well, instead, flip it around during these short runs. For instance, tonight, this could have been released as Bush in the lead on their channel with a collab from After Dark. This way, it doesn't have the expectation of a marathon; instead, it's more of a Bush with After Dark, or Mostly Sports with After Dark. Also, this could help get more guests willingly onto the show.

  1. Release the Behind the Scenes

As stupid as it sounds, release a follow-up. So yes, we get the short-form video, you get the outrage or the clicks, and then maybe an hour later, drop a "behind the scenes" that is y'all getting there, getting set up, and giving us content in a natural state of mind as well. Yes, I understand it is a bit dumb, but hey, it gets us stoolies more content, something we will not complain about.

There, of course, is so much more that can be done with these pre-records, cause we don't want them to go away, as tonight's was fun to watch. In fact, us complaining for more just shows it was good; that is why we wanted MORE! Lucas, Tate, Ryan, and the whole crew bust their asses, I know, but sometimes things need to be tweaked, and this is certainly a prime suspect. In the live on X, there were lots of good ideas, and I had these dialed before I lost connection, so here they are. Also, Tate, you might wanna start looking up ACT test booklets!
