As the brackets begin to fill up, bets are being placed, and Cinderellas dominate lunch break banter at Barstool Chicago, we get a matchup for the ages in Pros vs. Joes: Basketball. Ohio's Tate & Lucas have assembled an all-star cast of March legends to form a matchup made for Barstool After Dark. Though the Joes haven't fared well against the Pros in the past, March is the month of magical moments.
If you are a fan of March Madness, the Pros' lineup is pure nostalgia overload. We all love a good underdog story this time of year; well, the our past's David will become the Goliath Monday night. Right away, we of course have two of Barstool's own in Jason Williams and Mark Titus suiting up as Pros. Williams had one of the most underrated careers of the '90s and 2000s, and Titus was a former Harlem Globetrotters number one pick. Though he found himself regularly stuck at the end of the bench during his days at Ohio State, you do have to remember the accolades...including being a Chili's 3-point champion.

They will be joined by six legends from your March memories. First up is Tyler Hansbrough, the former Tar Heel who no one can forget, that bloody nose is part of the lore of Duke vs. UNC. In the frontcourt with him, we have Ohio State's Evan Ravenel and Loyola Chicago’s Tom Welch. All together, that makes for one hell of an advantage in size for the Pros, with all three being 6'8" or taller. You gotta think the likes of Dana Beers, Big T, and Katic are gonna be in hell.

The frontcourt isn't the only shocking disparity we’ll see, as the backcourt doesn't hit any lighter. First up we have the Illinois man in Brandon Paul. Then the names from your past continue with Mario Chalmers out of Kansas (former National and NBA champion, btw...no big deal), Ole Miss shit-stirrer himself Marshall Henderson, and St. Peter's Elite 8 darling Doug Edert. It feels like the perfect lead-up to the best week of basketball in the year. Oh & all of these pros will have one hell of a coach in Barstool's own Rone.

As for the Joes, we see a much deeper roster... well, in numbers at least. Sixteen of Barstool's best hoopers will have a chip on their shoulders, as many betting lines have this as a landslide advantage for the Pros. Basically, think about UMBC & FDU trying to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder. That’s about where we’re at here. BUT IT IS MARCH!

Matchups are always the key, and this game is no different. Though we could break down every possible one, let's not do that to ourselves. Instead, here are three key ones to look out for:

Right away, you have to wonder if the moment will be too big for Mintzy. Going up against an Ole Miss legend in Henderson, how will this affect his headspace? Henderson may have his counterpart in a blender from the jump, we need this matchup in the 1v1 to tip this thing off. We then go underneath to two top-tier college athletes in their respective sports: Katic vs. Hansbrough. Two guys not afraid of contact, this should be pure strength going at each other, just good old American toughness.
Finally, we have to include the wildcard himself, Rico Bosco, vs. well, basically anyone on the Pros, and heck, maybe even someone on his own team. After his Bama squad fell in conference tournament week and all of a sudden St. John's is looking like a possible Final Four dark horse, you have to expect his meter for an outburst to be very high.
Lastly, before we tune in for the fun, we are all degenerates at heart and thinking about what we could possibly bet on. I know it is in the back of the minds of most Stoolies. So, I built just a few lines to discuss heading into the big stream. Of course, we can always add some more, but some of the lines feel quite tough to argue, including possible techs and phone numbers achieved. With the rules starting to 1v1 & moving up all the way to 15v5 if needed, then even down to possibly 15v1, there are the a total of 19 games presumably to 11.

The First Four tips off St. Patrick's Day, but before the best week of the year begins with madness, there is the need for the perfect appetizer to cleanse the mind before we fill in those brackets and place our best bets. Barstool After Dark's Pros vs. Joes is just what we all need. Can the magic of March find our favorite Barstool content creators, or will our childhood Madness heroes recapture their glory days to show the world yet again they still own this month?
