Barstool After Dark: Fans Better Chill...

After what I thought was another successful night of Barstool After Dark, the loudest voices online seem to feel otherwise. Today on The Yak, the "changes" to the challenge came up as host Ohio’s Tate was brought on to speak about the chatters getting a bit crazy. I, for one, love After Dark, and looking at the numbers, I am not alone in this...so fans better learn to chill out before we potentially lose it for good.

Almost nine hours into bowling for a perfect score as a scramble team, Tate and his co-workers were in a living hell, with some soon having other Barstool engagements ahead. The choice to add in some of the alley's employees to help out has now opened a whole shitstorm toward Tate, Lucas, and the After Dark crew. While I’m all for funny or sarcastic comments during the stream...we need those to fuel the show and create an extra layer of motivation for the competitors, let’s chill out.

Tate, for the first time today, looked very affected by the commenters. Guys, I know the B.A.D. lovers are some of the best in the Stoolie universe, but let’s remember the show still comes first. What Tate has done since Jerry stepped away has been revolutionary. Also, shows are at their best when the creators are into what they are making, which is exactly what Tate and Lucas give us every damn week!

As fans, we need to touch grass. This crew has given us countless memorable streams over the last two years while putting their bodies through the wringer. After Dark is such a crucial show to have around, especially in the summer when the sports calendar is at its lightest... which is coming up!

After Dark is a staple of Barstool Chicago and has a host in Tate who is down for anything every week. This is a rare combination, and we fans need to find our balance. We should continue to push the buttons needed to keep emotions high in the right moments, but also read the room on when to step back and "chill out" before we lose it all right before our eyes.
