If you can dodge a wrench, then you can dodge a ball... or so we hope for Ohio’s Tate and an extended crew of Barstool personalities. Also I swear I won't over do it in here with the movie quotes!
Tuesday night, the best of the best in NCAA dodgeball will go up against the After Dark crew. YES!! There is Division I dodgeball, and after this stream, it could be full steam ahead for the 2028 Olympics, I'm calling my shot on that one!
Three of the nation’s top five dodgeball teams are heading to Chicago to face off for a shot at a national championship. Ohio State, Michigan State, & Grand Valley State will take on the Barstool After Dark crew hoping to come out champions.
For those who remember the Pro vs. Joes volleyball stream in late summer, Tuesday night will start in a similar fashion to set up the four-team single-elimination bracket. Ohio’s Tate will begin solo against a rotation of the three squads. After each loss, he’s allowed to bring on another teammate until Barstool either wins or reaches a squad of 20 players. After a victory or the 20, that becomes their team to compete in the bracket for a national championship.
We all remember the Average Joe’s and their legendary run in Dodgeball(not a quote so doesn't count!), and now we get to see it from all our favorite Barstool crew. A lot is on the line for both Barstool and the teams fighting to prove they’re the nation’s best. Now though I'm the After Dark beat reporter I still must show some integrity here soooo I must mention this storyline... we do have to worry about potential collusion between Tate and his Buckeyes... but we’ll hold off on that one until it’s time to cross that bridge.
The big question on all our minds though: Barstool’s power rankings, who could be the hero, the zero, or maybe the true wildcard underdog? As we all know, Barstool embodies the underdog story, so it’s hard to count anyone out. Still, I’ve done my best to give you the most accurate Barstool Dodgeball Power Rankings on the interwebs. Let’s take a look.
The #1 spot is as easy as ever: Ebo. Still in his prime, perfectly built, and bringing that James Madison experience. His expertise will be crucial come tournament time. Plus, you’ve got to think with Mintzy & Tate crunching the numbers, he won’t be brought out too early or too late, they’ll want to time it just right to let him help seal the deal. It’ll be tricky figuring out when it’s best to unleash Ebo.
Now, these power rankings aren’t the order they’ll hit the court, they reflect how important each player could be to a Barstool national championship. For those who don’t know, Barstool is still chasing its first dodgeball banner as an organization. So yeah, a lot’s on the line here.

As you look through the rankings, you’ll see youth and/or former athletes stacked near the top, guys like PFT, Katic, Nicky Smokes, & Rudy. Then you’ve got the wildcards like Chef Donny, though he won't be asked to do any oddsmaking thankfully(Wheel 2 Donny 0 btw). Since dodgeball is an extreme sport (usually on ESPN8: The Ocho), Donny’s basically built for this. Think “Steve the Pirate” vibes(please get this comp, people)!
In the second tier (10–20), there might be surprises. Dodgeball’s all about multitasking and humble, yet strategic attacking, so players like White Sox Dave, Mintzy, Max, & Mikey Bets could get taken out by their own... uh, overconfidence. Love ya guys if you’re reading this, but there might be a few traits working against ya here.
One potential underdog/wildcard? Matt Henkel. I mean, anyone who can eat a raw onion while suffering a potentially life-threatening allergic reaction dressed as a pencil, that’s someone with that DAWG in them! Though his Grand Valley State/Michigan State connections could be something to watch out for too... so many possibilities for collusion!!!
Look, in all seriousness, who didn’t beg for dodgeball every day in PE from ages 4–17? Now we get to watch the game we all loved and thought we had the secret formula to win every damn time! I’m sure we’ll all be in the chat dropping whatever “insider info” we can. It’s not often we get to tune in and live-chat a national championship. The excitement is boiling over to see Barstool hoist a trophy or our favorites potentially get dome shots against the nations best.

Will Barstool claim their first dodgeball title in history, or will the drought continue?
Tune in as always — 8PM ET / 7PM CT, Tuesday night!
