Aura KING: Drey "Day" Jameson is Back

All is right in the Arizona Diamondbacks world again. Drey Jameson is back, baby!

For those living under a rock, Jameson isn’t just a fan favorite... nah nah nah, that doesn’t do it justice. He’s a FAN OBSESSION for us Dbacks patrons(still feeling the Masters a bit). And here’s the sweet part: the dude can back it up!

Drey Jameson is a 27-year-old relief pitcher with the utmost swag. He was lights out in 2023 before suffering an elbow injury. Then, this spring, he made his awaited return, of course just chuckin' 100 with ease. This dude brings the stinky effin' CHEDD!

The Jameson lore runs deep, starting back at Ball State University, he was a 1st round pick by the Dbacks after going 13-5, 3.52 ERA with 13 strikeouts per 9 inning. He’s always been a flamethrower with his own particular style, capturing the hearts of all fans before he even hit Double-A. At 6 feet and around 170 pounds, he’s not the biggest guy out there, which makes that 100mph heater even more jaw-dropping. From the moment he hit the majors a couple of years ago, we’ve all been hooked; his style, his confident demeanor, all of it. Whether he’s taking the mound in his Scooby Snacks or SpongeBob cleats, you know you're about to see his patented gas & slide piece shut it down for 3 outs and a dub.

The shoes are a staple of the Drey Jameson aura! Here is his own background on his unique style:

Still coming off a major injury, the organization wanted to give him a bit more time to get back to full strength. Much to the jeers of his beloved fans, he started the season in Triple-A Reno. Until this weekend.

After an insane bullpen collapse on Friday, the wildest & highest scoring inning in Wrigley Field history...no frickin worries! Drey was on his way! Dbacks fans were buzzin’! The second Saturday’s broadcast opened with a shot of Jameson heading out to the Wrigley bullpen, it was on.

Now, the first game back wasn’t exactly thrilling with the Dbacks losing 6–2 and didn’t even need him. So we were force to wait another 24 hours to see the golden child of Dbacks pitching finally make his 2025 debut.

Enter the main event: DREY DAY.

Sunday’s game had it all too, rain delays, extra innings, and even a steal-home attempt. But it all led to the real climax: Drey Day. Rockin’ that #99 jersey, Jameson took the mound in the bottom of the 11th...SpongeBob cleats and all to save the day (and the series). It took him a mere 8 pitches to shut down the Cubbies and send the Dbacks flying home happy.

Teams around the league might think they have the coolest, swaggiest, or clutchest (yes, those may or may not be real words...this ain’t an English teacher blog!) dudes. WRONG. It’s the Dbacks clear and far ahead of the rest. And now that Jameson is back, the boys (Corbin Carroll, Alek Thomas, Jake McCarthy, and Drey himself) are ready to be iced out together across the league again.

If you’re just learning about Drey Day from this blog, now’s the time to hop on the bandwagon. This dude is an electric factory. I’m personally patiently awaiting the Dbacks’ City Connect jersey drop, because I have a sneaky suspicion I’ll be rocking a crisp #99 real soon.

Barstool also by the way if you’re reading hit us with the Scooby-Doo and/or SpongeBob Drey Jameson shirts ASAP. Dbacks fans will buy them in BUNCHES. No doubt about it. The swag man is back in Phoenix, let’s enjoy this era while we’ve got him.

Drey Jameson, stay hot kid!
